I recently acquired an older Yamaha acoustic with the Red Label inside that reads “Yamaha Guitar FG-230 Nippon Gakki” the only number I can find is 1223999 inside top part of the guitar. This guitar is a six string. I thought the FG-230’s where 12 strings. Did Yamaha make this model as 6 string also? […]

I have recently purchased an Epiphone Sheraton. The headstock reads Epiphone by Gibson and the serial number on a label on the back of the head stock. SL 70606682. I have looked everywhere. Cant find any info. Any info would be appreciated.

I have an Alvarez Yairi Y89-3 made in 1989. I have never seen a model number in a Yairi starting with Y, most are DY. Could someone tell me a little about this guitar, what it might be worth, etc… I have had it for about 20 years and it is in excellent condition. Thanks[/quote]
