Guns and Roses, Anthrax…the good thing about having a big (older that is) sister!

I think I’ve been on the bill as the front man of Deacon Blue…? Of course I’d never heard of them tho.

I already hold you high in my estimation, Lee. The fact that you mentioned Scritti just lifts you into altitudes where artificial breathing apparatus is required. Easy to dismiss the poncey voice, but the (copyright NME) sheer pop sensibilities of “Absolute” and “Wood Beez” ought to be saluted.

Did you click on the Feeder link I did? They rejected all that metal-OD by the time they recorded “Comfort in Sound”. I agree with pretty much all of your 80s choices (I saw Electrofixion and was chasing their manager for an interview but was forever fobbed off) but would like to add probably my overall favourite 80s band, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions. I had no idea “My bag” was all about his problems with Charlie, even though the lyrics were on the LP sleeve. Am I thick or what? Very clever song structures and lyrics. Also, REM were actually quite interesting in the 80s, not a lot of people know that…

‘A Promise’ by Echo and the Bunnymen.

80’s stuff was good, i played Feeder and i would only give it a 5/10, i ejected it from the CD player after track 6, all the guitar sounds were very much the same, after 30 mins of heavy distortion i gave up.
I was expecting a lot more from Feeder.
I played The Smiths LP ‘The Smiths’ 2nd side was good, im not a great fan of the Smiths but i like Marr’s guitar tones. 7/10

Psychedelic furs, Talk Talk, Teardrop Explodes, Gang of 4, The Cramps, all great 80’s Bands. But the team leader would have to be Echo and the Bunnymen, so many great albums, and great songs, Back of love, the cutter, lips like sugar, Bring on the dancing horses, Villiers terrace, all brilliant songs, i cant think of a dodgy Bunnymen song, even the newer 2000 – 2007 suff is great, even when they mutated into Electrofixion they were great..

Great album, “Comfort in Sound”, though very much a noughties (2002) than an eighties album. I found this absolutely bizarre vidclip to “Just the Way I’m Feeling”; done as only Youtoobers can.

Among all the “this encapsulates the relationship between Ron and Hermione perfectly” guff, there is a lone voice of reason. He says,
Dont EVER mix something as great as Feeder with this shit.
Please
😆 😆
