Hello all
I’ve not been posting for a while.
This is a new modest idea recorded a few hours ago.
An interesting tuning : EADGBB.(Two guitar tracks)
[audio src="http://guitarlover.free.fr/Ambiance.mp3" /]Do I add a bass line?

Funny how an instrument changes things. The piano’s good, but makes the tune more “easy listening”. The middle eight at 1:30 and 2:30 now reminds me of “Harvest for the World” for some reason. I prefer the bass-accompanied version but, as Lee mentioned, a real drummer would be more adventurous and lift the song.

The bassline’s good (synch seems OK to me); generally leaving the space to you. I’m not sure about the fast run at 2:10 but, like Tim, the problem I have is with the tone, not the tune. Is that an EAB? It seems to occupy a similar mid-high register. Myself, I’d have got out the mahog-body solid, set it to full on the neck pup and kept it deep and full. Maybe a bit “Snowy White”, but I think it would have put the additional depth in there. Must emphasize the playing sounds nice to me, though.

I think Tim is talking about the tone not the tune, the tone of the bass is trebley and toppy, needs to be deeper, the guy hits the notes in the right places… i think, but what do i know?
Ive got some good fireworks for tomorrow night, Tim and 1bassleft, go out in your respective gardens tomorrow evening at 7.30pm and look south, you might see them go up.
By the way, i live about 1 mile from that oil refinery that nearly went up Weds afternoon, that would have lit the sky up. -

Thank you!
Correct me if I’m wrong but the bass seems not to be always perfectly synchronized with the guitar. It’s difficult to choose the right tune for a bass Tim….

Very nice.
Personally, I’d like the bass tone to be deeper/fuller to give more distinction between the guitars and the bass, but I realise this doesn’t really suit the slapping poppers out there.
Definite return to form though!

Back on top form, leaving the synth behind is a real bonus. i like this one.

I’m a 5-string player with the wrong touch 😆
I can certainly hear a nice bass in my head as I play back the clip. I am terribly old-skool ignorant about mp3 and the like, though. HST, the bass is so obvious for this; anyone with any sensibility for the tune would put something down that’s right for it. It’s about supporting the guitar that’s there; not slapping funkalicious lines all over it.

Are you stepping into the spotlight bass? 😆

Somebody at the hotel has turned up the speaker volume. There is no bassline; there are two guitar tracks and the electronic drumtrack. This would definitely benefit from a four-string player with the right touch.

surely not me on the first-person pronoun??
My grammar is shocking, but it’s no where near as bad as your internal speakers!! -
and i would really lift the tune
Lee, I can put up with the way you don’t capitalize your first-person pronoun, but bragging that your playing would make such an improvement is a bit much 😉
On this internal speaker, it half sounded like bass was there, but I couldn’t be sure if it wasn’t the lower strings on the acoustic being picked. Let us know, Guy. By Sunday, I’ll be able to have a proper listen.

That is a nice piece, very melodic, nice playing too.
1bassleft, I think i can hear a Bass line on there, your speakers probably can’t pick it up.
It would be good to hear some of these tracks played live with a real band, a decent drummer could really do wonders with it, add a good bass player and i would really lift the tune.Very good effort though Acoustica.

I’m in a hotel and the speaker on this PC is not very loud, Guy, but it’s another nice piece. The only thing that is modest is your opinion of your playing.
Add a bassline? Why not, seeing as there is already a drum track. Something restrained nd not fussy, just backing up what’s there.
