ARE THERE GOOD GUITARS FOR UNDER $600?

This is an old article – for more up-to-date information see:

The answer is Yes.

There are some great guitars under $600. Fender, Ibanez, Jackson, Grestch, and even Danelectro have some great guitars for under $600.

Of course you need to spend a lot of time in a guitar store playing the guitars under $600 Don’t buy mail order for certain.

A guitar must feel right to the player, otherwise it sucks no matter how much it costs. The neck has to fit your hand. The sound has to be right for you. This is the only way to buy any guitar, under $600 or if it cost $4000.

Of course the under $600 guitars are not going to play and sound like an Anderson, or a really Great Fender that cost some big bucks. However, they are good guitars, and if you are a good player they will sound great. They will sound as good as the player, no better, no worse. If a decent player has a decent guitar, they can sound great, no matter what the guitar costs. If the Guitar Player is not good, then it doesn’t matter how expensive the guitar is, the guitar will not sound good. The Guitar Player makes the Guitar, if the Guitar is to a certain level anyway. And there are many guitar under $600, that in the hands of a good guitar player, sound great.

The Guitar Player is more important than the Guitar, when it comes to good music.

I had a Fender Strat that was priced at $209. It sounded Fantastic. But I took it back and got a Fender Tele that Cost only $339. The Fender Tele for $339 does not sound as good as a Fender Tele I Played for $690. But I just didn’t have the $690, but I had the $339.

I have played some Gretsch Solid Bodies that were under $300 that had fantastic sound, and played Great. I played some DeArmond Guitars under $200 that sounded and played absolutely fantastic.

The Technology we have today produces some incredible guitars at a low cost. The technology does it. The Design does it. The Production methods does it.

I have played some great Danelectro Guitars. We all know that Danelectro is not an expensive guitar. In Reality I would love to have one of the Danelectro Guitars that Sells for about $229 at the Guitar Center. I like the single cutaway model, with two pickups, and the wooden Bridge. Though the wooden Bridge is not adjustable, it produces a sound that is different to the Metal Bridges. And this U2 Danelectro Guitar played through a $69 Danelectro Amps, produces a dirty Blues sound that you cannot get with any other guitar. I.d like to have this setup just for playing dirty Blues.

Every Guitar has it.s own personality. Look for the one with a personality that suits you and your music, your guitar playing, no matter what the price might be.

The is nothing like having a Guitar that is a work of Art, and cost from $2000 to $3000. However, there are a tremendous amount of what I consider really great guitars for under $600.

You have to play the guitars to decide which one is really great.
