This fully-analogue four channel guitar amp features a newly designed 100-watt Class D power amp section. It will be on display at Musikmesse 2014 in Hall 4.0, Stand H10.

Amp1 is a compact amplifier that comes in the form of a stompbox, which makes it easy to transport and implement into your existing rig. You can use it like a regular amp head on top of your cab, or you can lay it on the floor like an effects pedal.

In addition to its conveniently portable form, BluGuitar stands by how the amp sounds. They utilized a technology that they call “nanotube”, they say that it works in the output stage and gives Amp1 the character of a 100 watt tube amp, including its punch and assertiveness. BluGuitar further adds “the amp sets new standards in terms of power, vitality, responsiveness and genuinely analogue output stage behaviour – the only Class D power amp to offer a PowerSoak.”

Tonal flexibility is another goal that Thomas Blug and his team went for, so they gave Amp1 four channels: a Clean Channel and three different-flavor Overdrive channels that include Vintage, Classic and Modern. Each of these channels can then be supplemented with an extra portion of gain via the built-in Boost control.

A full set of essential tone shaping controls are provided so you can adjust the responsiveness and tonal character of each of the four channels. You can use the basic EQ in conjunction with the gain, volume and boost controls to personalize the sound of each channel to your preference. Amp1’s three footswitches let you select between the Clean/Vintage/Classic/Modern channels, with Boost and Reverb settings either on or off.

Amp1 also comes with a host of modern connectivity that makes it ideal for silent practice or silent recording by going straight to your headphones or to your audio interface.

The press release summarizes the convenience that Amp1 brings: “With Amp1 it’s possible to build a complete 100-watt guitar amp and effects setup on a single pedalboard for the first time ever. This will really help reduce the amount of cabling guitarists will need to use, which not only benefits their tone, but will also save the pro player an awful lot of time with assembly and clear-up before and after the gig”.

Thomas Blug and his team also worked on the optional Remote1 Foot Pedal for Amp1. It is designed to give you direct control of all the features found in Amp1 via 9 switches. It also features a MIDI out for controlling other MIDI compatible devices.

As an alternative, you can go for the optional MIDI1 Adapter so you can control Amp1 with your favorite MIDI foot pedals. There is also an optional Looper-Kit Extension for players that want to integrate various effect pedals into the Amp1 guitar system, it features true bypass relay loops.

BluGuitar Amp1 is scheduled for release on June 2014. The RRP is €649. BluGuitar Remote1 will retail for €349,
BluGuitar Looper-Kit is priced at €249 and BluGuitar MIDI1 Adapter will carry a €49 price tag. Head over to BluGuitar for more information.
