Looking for some information on a totaly gloss black magnum p bass it has a black white black pick guard and rosewood neck, 20 frets. Black everything except neck. Even the neck and head stock is black. Thanks
I recently got a old guitar it was in a Hondo case but after a closer look it has MX Magnum at the tuning pegs. It’s a tele style but there’s no volume, reverb no knobs of any kind only a cable jack. Has someone removed them the pickups are straight wired to jack. I haven’t tried it yet to see if it works, but could someone shed a little light on this for me? I really would appreciate it.
What’s it worth its acoustic
Hi, we have a beautiful Magnum Acoustic Guitar & would like to date & price it please.
The sticker reads: Magnum, Model: MAG300, Serial: S110401496, Made in Indonesia
If anyone has any info on this guitar, it would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Robyn
Back in 83 I opened a music in spfld,mo. I bought a magnum pro strat/lp style guitar from a wholesale company in Michigan. The wholesaler said this retails for $500. I got it for $107 shipped. It was made as overstock from Ibanez. Very heavy.
I had my neighbors give me an acoustic Magnum in a leather hard case. Serial numbers are MAG-400NG/BK. Made in Indonesia.
If anyone knows anything about it please comment
Regards
Jamie
Earlier I posted my info on a black Les Paul style ( sort of ) guitar. I mentioned it looked identical to an Ibanez A-10 model also of 1978. It is actually identical to a CN-250MC model from 1978 and can be seen on the offical site for Ibanez in the 1978 catalog wich is posted on the site, sorry.
I have a black Magnum solid body, Les Paul style ( except it dosn’t have the rounded body top above neck, it has horn style similar to Strat, sort of) identical to an Ibanez A-10 model. It also came with Dimarzio super dist pickups in both positions, and coil taps on both pickups, gold hardware, glued on neck, all mahogany and weighs 27 pounds. Its the most awsome (though heavy) guitar I have ever played and still do. I purchased it new from a small music and guitar repair shop in Ferndale Mich. in 1978 for full retail of 625.00 and still well worth it. The shop was called Georges Guitars and was owned and operated by luthier George Yontz and he informed me at the time that they were sold by Ibanez but they resourced some of the parts and manufacturering to different sources than they normally used. I really don’t know much more about this guitar, oops it does have complete copper foil shielding through out the body cavity. I have only made one alteration, I have replaced the bridge pickup with a Duncan Jeff Beck model.
Could someone please help me? I need help with finding out the price range for this guitar. I’m not exactly sure what kind of Magnum it is. I just want to find out what it is worth. Thanks for the help everyone! I can’t find it anywhere. It’s an MGC-300

I own an electric guitar with the name "Magnum" on the truss rod cover. It is in the shape of an X. The guitar is black with a gold spider web covering the front. The body is made of several sheets of wood glued over top of each other. I would like to know about the brand. I do not think this brand is made anymore.

I am looking at buying an elecric acoustic guitar with built in tuner on ebay, the description is red, dreadnought, i have never seen one and it looks pretty wide across the base i would like to know the measurements of it.
On the issue of the origins of Magnums, Ive just bought a really nice Magnum Tele copy in Sea Blue. It’s assembled in Vietnam, timbered with maple and made to the specs of the Mexican fenders. The hardware is also said to be the same as the Mexifenders too. Pick-ups are Duncan (if that means anything to anyone). The guitar plays easy, action is low and over all sounds great for a $300 copy.
My Favourite Guitar.I’ve had 18 years experience so I know my stuff. When I bought the guitar brand new I was content in the playability and sound for a $300 guitar. At that time I was also trying out the whole Fender range of Tele’s from $300-$4000. None of them really grabbed me.
I lowered the nut height and had the truss rod adjusted and also had the bridge pick-up waxed(to eliminate feedback problems and changed string gauge to 10-52 D’Addario strings. The tone, presence, sustain(incredible) as well as the string tension on this guitar are just brilliant. I’m reluctant to change the pick-ups as they have got some good grunt and bite. You have to give the middle and neck positions a bit of extra brightness or treble otherwise they are a bit muddy. Keep in mind it’s still a $300 guitar, but I love it’s playability feel and sound more than my Strat. I use the Magnum at all my gigs especially toward the end of the night for screaming solo’s.Great All Round Guitar
Good for:Rock,Country,Blues,Jazz,Rock’n’Roll,Probably Heavier stuff too.
Dear Arndt:
We talked a while ago about my providing you with a pickup. Now I have a design I want yu to build for me.

I have a mugnum les paul also and i found out recently there are known as lawsuit guitars they made in the late 70s early 80 and gibson sued them becasue they look just like a les paul and thats against the law so they had to quit making them
i have a 20 some year old magnum les paul copy as well and i love that thing, even though its made out of ply wood, and the original pick-ups are single coil( but the case makes them look like humbuckers). so what i did was throw some new humbuckers in there ( seymore duncan for the neck pick-up and a dimarzio super distortion for the bridge) replaced the toggle, and re-placed some of the old wires, as well as refretted it and now its a **** ing trooper. if you want to see the best guitars ever made though check out http://www.luczak.com

made in japan some were made with demarzio miti mite pickups a and a brass nut had really phenomonal sound mine will be sadly missed it is a black beauty bounded body les paul look alike had it since 1985 it was new i believe in 74ish i had removed cleaned and dated the pickups as they were the originals so although IT WAS A KNOCK OFF IT WAS A RATHER WELL FASHIONED ONE FOR LOOKS AND PERFORMANCE..
I LEFT IT SIT TOO LONG AND LET THE WRONG MUSIC SHOP TRY YTO INTONATE IT AND IT CAME BACK A MESS LESS THE BRASS NUT AS WELL… NEVER SOUNDED THE SAME
I too have a Magnum Les Paul vintage 1970’s guitar, and can’t find any info as it doesn’t have a model or serial number. Just a gold stamp saying WO. 20380. Has anyone found anything out

I have a Magnum Strat copy that I’ve had for over 15 years. It had a "Made in Korea" sticker on the back of the headstock.
It’s actually a really nice guitar, although I’ve replaced the plastic nut(with a bone nut) and the tuners(with PlanetWaves locking, self trimming tuners).
: I bought this Guitar along with a Magnum CG40 RC amp. Looks like everyone else is wondering where they’re made & stuff as well.
: I’ve heard China or Korea. The amp says Korea. Seems its a good cheap guitar selling new for about $380-$400 Australian. I paid $300 for the amp & guitar : D Sounds great with a DS-2.

I have purchased a 335 copy finished in a dark sunburst. It has gold hardware and the words Magnum Custom on the headstock. Sources here (Australia) suggest that it was made in Korea and is approx. 25years old. The pickups are original, it plays well, the fretboard is narrow and straight allowing a really low action. If anybody has additional info. and ideas on it’s possible value, I’d like to hear from you.
Many thanks for a great site!
I think its a nice website because he’s my dad. He workes very hard for what he does. Love you dad!
Kimi,
You’re right! It is a cool website, and he’s a cool dad! I just bought a second hand Magnum Strat copy yesterday, black with white scratchboard. It plays very well. I spent all afternoon cleaning it after pulling the old strings off it. Today I’m going out to get some ultra light strings for it, so I can get into some Zakk Wylde lead practice. I’ve been downloading Youtube videos and studying them closely. Can’t wait to see how the new magnum sounds with new strings!
See Ya!

Either the pickup is not connected, or the jack is not connected (there is an extra lead wire for "active" circuitry). These 2 problems are the most common.

As far as I can tell, magnum bass guitars are ok. I know a couple people who have played on magnums, and thought them to be nice instruments. I have aquired a magnum bass from the 80s, and after putting new strings on it, it sounds really great. it’s a fender style, possibly a copy.
i was hoping one of these sites had some info on the actually company, and its guitars!

I got given a Magnum Strat copy as my first electric guitar – I think it was just under $200 brand new.
That was a long time ago now – it was OK but wasn’t very well set up out of the box and needed work.
owned one Magnum acoustic Martin replica. had rosewood back, the center was shaped like a pie. you could adjust the saddle. square inlays on the fretboard. don’t remember the model, I think MD. very good guitar. sold last year to a collector for $675. wish i didn’t. best guitar i’ve had.
