Posted by Jim Rodecker on Mon, 05/05/03 - 00:26:43.

I just acquired a small Contessa with a model number HG-01 and a serial number 6859. Can anyone tell me about it or where I can get some information.
Thank you

Re: Contessa Guitar

A friend of mine just got a 3/4 Contessa, model number Hg-05 and serial number 11756. It's labeled for both Contessa and M. Hohner, and it's a classical acoustic, briged for nylons. I'm trying to find some information on it for him, but I haven't found much... if you've found anything, could you email me? I'll email you as well if I find any information.

Re: Contessa Guitar

I myself have a Contessa and M. Hohner, model Hg-06 and am struggling to find more info about. if i find anything i will email you and please do the same.

Re: Contessa Guitar

I have a Contessa HG-200, Serial # 1075 that I purchased in 1972 for $225.00. I also have the custom case that was made for it. This has been an excellent guitar which has a great sound. I purchased it at the time because it played so well, and now better than ever. Outside of that I have not been able to find any info on these guitars.

Contessa model HG-03

I just purchased a Hohner model HG-03 acoustic guitar. Does anyone know how I can date it??? Appears to be 60s - 70s era???

I have a Contessa HG-05 nylon string made in Italy, Ser. # 6927, bought 2nd hand in San Francisco in 1981. Because it has position dots on fretboard, a truss rod and the heel shape of a steel string guitar, it's not a true classical guitar shape, though the neck width, head stock bridge and and tuners fit the classical guitar mold. Scale length is 640mm, which is shared by some classical guitar through the majority tend to be 650 (just 2mm over a very common 25.5" scale length for Fender electrics)

I have a contessa HG-671. I'm looking for info on it as well
