if you can play a power chord, your on your way to electric guitar playing. Heres how you do it: put your first finger on any of 3 bass strings. next put your third finger onthe adjacent string 2 frets below your first finger. this is the simple power chord and the foundation of black sabbath deep purpule and other such bands. If you transpose this simple power chord and barre the string right next to (Across from) where you put your first finger, you have an inverted power chord used to great effect by hendrix, cobain, and various hardcore bands. just to get you on your way….
