  1. xtSA Battery
    Anonymous

I know it’s recommended to unplug the guitar after playing to preserve the 9V battery for the acoustic preamp. My question is, which instrument cable? Only from the acoustic/mix jack? The 13-pin cable? All three (including the electric)? Simple matter but I’d like to know the answer. Thanks for any help.

    1. When to unplug cables on Godin guitars to save battery
      Stratomaster

I have an LGXT and the Electric plug can stay in but the Acoustic/Mix jack will drain the battery. I don’t know about the 13-Pin cable, but it seems likely that it would drain the battery.

I just started using a Boss GP-10 this week and I found that even with the Godin’s battery removed, if you use the 13-Pin cable the piezo pickups will work. The Piezo Pickups are getting powered by the GP-10, so I don’t have a battery in and I don’t have to unplug the 13-pin cable. The 13-Pin can transmit all the pickups in the guitar, so I don’t need to use the 1/4″ jacks anymore at all, unless I wanted to use separate amps or run separate channels to a mixer.

      Loving the Boss GP-10.

  2. What Colour Is Desert Blue?
    GM Arts

Looking at the official Godin website pictures, their desert blue colour shows as a blue-green colour (think dark cyan) which I like. But I see this same colour shown as on other sitres as dark blue (almost a “royal blue”), which I DON’T like. I’d love to place an order, but I just don’t know what to expect.

I understand the issues around colours on different monitors, colour perception and so on, but there seems to be two radically different colours called desert blue.

    Can anyone clarify?

  3. Godin guitar unknown model
    Gilberto Ruiz

I have a black Godin electric/acoustic guitar which I am not sure what model it is. I am not the original owner. The original owner told me he it cost him about $1,000. I bought for half but it was physically in bad shape. It haves steel strings on it. Can’t put nylons on it because the slot on the nut are too thin for nylon. There is no serial number on the whole guitar. It does not have the Godin signature below the volume and equalizer control. There is a piece of clear label that reads “MULT XLR”. The brand on top of the neck looks authentic of Godin. The plate that holds the body and the neck behind haves the Godin signature. Haves 2 plain plates with four screws each. One has the electronic boards where you set the 9 volt battery. The other haves nothing just cables. The mic are individually set on the bridge for each string. Just like regular Godin guitar. It have 2 output plugs: one is a regular 1/4 phono plug and a 13 pin connector to connect a Roland guitar synth. The neck is mahogany, it haves the dots set like the Godin guitars. It is the description what could be a Multiac but with steel strings. Can’t locate the original owner for more info. Have search on the internet if I could one like it. Seems to be the only model. I have heard that there have been some models that were discontinued, but the ones that I found are not the ones. Want to know what exactly I have.

    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good hardshell case for the Godin Montreal Premiere? I’m thinking that TKL, Gater or somebody must make a case that would work. Any help would be appreciated.

  7. A6 Treble adjust
    Dave

Has anyone had a problem with the treble adjust on a Godin A6? The pot is okay, but no treble adjust of the magnetic pup as advertised. Goin to buy a whole new preamp from Godin. That better cure it….I hope. What else is there. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave

  8. Godin A6 Ultra
    Anonymous

Hi. Is there anybody who can help me out with Godin A6 Ultra preamp wiring. Story is that I bought guitar without preamp. Old owner said that it was broken and he droped it away. Then he tried to use passive piezo and he cut boath plugin sockets. I bought new preamp from ebay but I have no idea were all those cables fit. I hope ther is no problem to find those 5pin plugin sockets but its impossible to find schematics. I don’t want to blow up my preamp.
Big big thanks if anybody can help.
    Sorry abot my bad english!

  9. using multiac with roland gr-20
    Mike 7 String

    Hi Godiners,
I have 3 Godin Multiac guitars and I recently got a used roland gr-20. All of my guitar do the same thing, the high e string doesn’t interface with the roland. It’s not the register of the string because I can produce the sound on my b string at the 5th fret and above. Any suggestions?
