What are the best tutorials on learning guitar? something that has DVDS/videos and all. For someone who does not know at all how to play. Tho I have some knowledge and very limited ability I’d rather get something for a complete beginner. I was looking at that Learn and Master guitar package but would like to hear from some experienced players. I have not found a teacher here that I like and really do not have the time to go take lessons consistently.
There is a free program called ScaleTrainer http://www.ecogneato.com/products/stge/stge_bv_product.html that samples my guitar through my computers sound card. It shows my whats right and wrong for a (scale/mode/key combination). You can change the modes for any scale and see what the entire fret board looks like. It illustrates how modes work and relate to each other.
Hey! That’s kinda cool! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Lee, Do you or anyone else know if that video teaches things like scales? It seems like an intricate program tho costly. I wanted to know if itd be worth it or any others are.

There are lots of ways to learn, learning licks or riffs from guitar videos is OK but you wont know how it fits into a scale or a key.
If you seriously want to learn guitar then you have to learn the basics, and that means boring scales, and that means learning either Music Notation or at the very least guitar TAB.
Bob houston posts on here and is an excellent guitar teacher, he has a free website http://www.houlston.freeserve.co.uk/
lots of good lessons on there, if you are going to buy a DVD make sure it teaches the basics as well as the riffs.
Good luck.
