While maintaining a page for Schaller parts, I found out that many people have questions I can’t answer by myself. Unfortunately, turning to manufacturer doesn’t always mean getting any reply, too…
That’s why I launched this forum and hope it may help somebody the answers he(she) needs.
I no longer run the forum, but you can discuss everything here (not Schaller’s stuff only).
There is only one but: that “everything” should be about guitar/bass or other stringed instruments building, repair etc.
Need an arm, chrome or gold. Its all my guitar needs to
be back to original. Currently am using a fender arm on it.
Thanks,
J.R.
I’ve been listening to Victor Wooten for quite some while now, and I have been attempting (emphasis on attempting) to duplicate some of his techniques and sounds. I’ve been playing with harmonics a bunch, but I need that tremolo for my bass so I can play with the notes. If anyone can give me a lead on a Kahler bridge (Victor Wooten style), or can give me leads to Pork Products, I would be very greatful. Thanks!
Hi Andy,
Pork Products website is: http://members.home.net/porkproducts/home.html .

Is Kahler still in business? And if so…who is the distributer. I’m a repair tech & builder with a few customers interested in kahler parts. Can you help? Thanks, Bobby (SaddleShoe Guitars)
Hi. I’ve got a strat style body that is not a Fender product. I want to get a pickguard for it but have no idea who manufactured the body. The cut outs for pots and toggle are in the back. The jack is on the lower side. A stock strat pickguard dosen’t come close to matching. It had no pickguard when I took possesion of it. So I guess what I need is at least a list of replacement body manufacturers. Any Ideas?

Hi,
I’m looking for a right-hand TREMOLO ARM for Fender Stratocaster/Telecaster (cir. 1985)
with Kahler locking tremolo system. The tremolo arm I need is a push-in/detent style, and
Not a screw-in type.
Try either an American arm for the Strat Ultra or an Ibanez pro edge arm.
Where can I get info on the Kahler A.P.M. 3310 non-tremolo bridge?
: Specifications are needed and would be appreciated.
Did you ever get a response from anyone on that damn bridge? All links I have found on the 3310 are blocked and I can’t find anything anywhere on Kahler stuff-
Irecently bought a Charvel/jackson late 80’s strat w/a Kahler spider, but the lock nut screws were missing. Also did charvels come w spiders. somebody help!

I have a 1978 Music Man bass guitar the body is in great shape but the neck is broken I wrote to Ernie Ball about it but they said they could not help me Im looking to buy one for it do any of you know where I might could hook up with one? thanks for your time
First off i’m new to electric guitars, and haven’t dealt with tremelo’s much before. I just bought a Squier Stagemaster HH with a Floyd Rose tremelo. I think the tremelo is "double locking", but im not completely shure. Anywho, is there a way I can lock the bridge/tremelo into place (so that it won’t move).
thanks,
In response to the Floyed rose trem if you are wanting to lock the trem like a regular bridge go to http://www.Stewmac.com and buy a Schaller tremstop its item#(#4956) its about $20.00 you mount it next to the trem arm and when you swing the arm down it locks the trem like a regular bridge and when you lift the arm you have your trem again and this way you dont mess up the intonation of you action or ou guitar at all.Its worth the money.
Roy
I need to buy a floyed rose tremelo liscensed by Jackson guitars and here in my country is not possible to find it.
Please, give me some information about where I can find this kind of tremelo in my country.
Thanks a lot.
Daniel Suliani.
If you do not want it to move at all the best way is to tighten or add springs to the tremolo from the back of the Guitar, You will want it to where you have no " floating action" – this means the bridge is really touching the body of the guitar. But these "floating tremolos" really are not setup for that type of position, you will run into problems with inntonation and fret buzz. So if you insist on this you might take it to a local guitar shop to take a look at it.

i still am looking for the min and max string spacing for that bridge,,,

WHat’s the differance between a Schaller Floyd Rose and a Fender of other than the "licensed" text on it. I have heard that the Schaller Floyd is "EXACTLY" the same as the "original". Is this true? Please email me. Also where the Jackson Floyds made by Schaller considered "original" floyds?

some body tel me where to buy a 7 string floyd style locking tremelo. I’ve looked everywhere.
WD music products have a lciencsed 7 string floyd rose trem, their website is http://www.wdmusicproducts.com
Carvin has them for sale. http://www.carvin.com
I’m playing a standard Jackson with a floyd-rose and recently stuck on a mixed set of srtings (thin gauge high-end, thick gauge low-end) and have had to tune a step flat as I cannot balance the tensions otherwise. Have played with the springs under the plate a bit.
Am wondering if floating tremelos aren’t intended for heavy string gauges, or have I overlooked something?
I had the same problem with my Ibanez tah has a floyd rose locking-trem. I tried putting higher gauge strings on it and when i tried to tune it to standard tunning the trem would pull up. So I took it to my neares Ibanez dealer and they put an extra spring in the back and re-tuned it for me and I’ve had heavy gauge strings on it since and it has been fine so you should do the same thing with your Jackson.
Yes, a good guitar tech can set-up a Floyd for a custom set of strings (Heavy top, Light bottom). This is a pretty standard thing. You have to set the intonation (with the saddles), the action with the top mounts (wood screws) and the trem should be leveld with the springs in back. Go to the JacksonGuitars website, they have a pretty good tech page on Floyd set-ups.
i need the bottom end or the bridge, for this guitar and the anchor bolts that come with it, do you know where i could get this?

Try Warmouth. It’s a company in Puyallup, WA who specializes in parts and custom bodies/necks. They’re great. If they can’t help, try Stewart MacDonald. Both companies have websites.
I am customizing a new Music Man Stingray 5. I have located a
graphite neck from Status and replacement pickups and electronics
from Seymor-Duncan. In addition to the humbucker at the bridge
I’d like to add a J-style pickup in the neck position without
cutting into the original pickguard. I have yet to find a company
that either produces or will custom make a pickguard that will
accomidate the additional J pickup. Please e-mail me any info that
might help.
I ran across a place that will do custom work while looking for a pick guard for an Ibanez ATK 300. The address is http://www.guitar-parts.com. They were asking more than I wanted to spend.
I am after a "String Saddle" for the bottom string (Low E) for a Kayler Tremelo Bridge System (Screw Down Type), that I have on my 1987 G & L Skyhawk Guitar (Seriel Number: G020608)
This string saddle, as I call it, is the small piece, through with the string is inserted on the tremelo bridge.
I have tried a number of places in Brisbane, Australia and have been unsuccessful. I understand that Kayler are no longer around and it is difficult to get parts. Any assistance given would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

I am also looking for parts for the Kahler ( roller saddles )please let me know if you have any luck.
I have a late 1960’s Martin D-18-S in very sad shape. It needs a new neck, fingerboard, nut, bridge, saddle, and pickguard (at least). Is it worth fixing? Where can I find parts? Who should fix it? (The factory has politely declined because it is not cost effective.) Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have a new Ibanez Jem with the Lo-pro Edge tremelo and I think after I re-strung it the end of the thing is too far off
the body sticking up in the air. I cranked the fine tuners down but it doesn’t seem to want to go far enough down onto the
body. I’m playing .009 – .042 strings, so I don’t think that’s it. Any ideas? Thanks.
Bill
There should be a plate on the back of the guitar
that houses the tension springs to the tremolo. Remove the
cover and you should see 3-4 springs each hooked to phillips
screws. Tighten each screw about one turn clockwise until
he position of the tremolo is about level. You’ll have to
adjust the tuning a few times during the process, but
eventually you’ll reach the balance point between the string
tension and the tremolo tension.
