Chris Larkin recently added two new 5 string basses to his stock.
The first 5B bass features “a beautiful bookmatched soft coloured Irish walnut
overlay on an Irish sycamore core and a flamed maple/sapele laminated, carbon fibre reinforced,
neck” says Larkin’s website.https://www.guitarsite.com/newsletters/gnw/images/other/larkinwalnut.jpg
The second 5B bass is made from Figured Poplar from Croatia. According to Larkin’s website, “the
bookmatched overlay is glued onto a core of utile mahogany with veneer details at the joint. The
neck is a laminate of utile and flamed maple (carbon fibre reinforced) with a rosewood
fingerboard. Finish is two pack AC silk lacquer that brings out the texture of the woods.”https://www.guitarsite.com/newsletters/gnw/images/other/larkinpoplar.jpg
Chris hand builds all his instruments from the west coast of Ireland.
