The new slides are 2mm thick, and come in three popular material types – glass, steel and brass.

To accommodate various slide playing styles, the new slides come in two lengths, 40mm for the shorter one, and a longer 60mm version.

The new models are meant to be suitable slides that cover all types of music, matching the action your guitar and/or the gauge of the strings you use.

Pyrex Glass Bottleneck Slides

These are glass slides that ride the strings and do not dig-in. They are designed to have the right weight and finish to glide through the strings, resulting in a cleaner tonality. The Rotosound Pyrex Glass Bottleneck Slides feature smooth surfaces that give it a glassy sound for creating harmonic rich tones. The S1GD – Double Pack retails for £9.95 while S1GS – Single Pack retails for £5.95.

Brass Slides

Brass Slides

Brass Sides are the more traditional type, that when combined with good blues amp will give you a retro blues wailing tone. Its metal construction gives it more of a mellow growl compared to that of glass, and since brass is softer than the strings, it lets you dig-in for a more tactile playing feel. The Rotosound brass slides feature a bright, high sustain sound with a bit of dirty grit. The S1BD – Double Pack retails for £24.95 while S1BS – Single Pack retails for £11.95.

Stainless Steel Slides

Stainless Steel Slides

These type of slides give you the in-between sound of the first two. Since Stainless Steel is corrosion resistant, it is durable and heals minor surface scratches, keeping its frictionless streamlined finish for a long period of time. Its smooth surface makes it effortless to play slide, and gives off a brassy tone with a bit of glass harmonicsof grit. The S1SD – Double Pack retails for £16.95 while S1SS – Single Pack retails for £9.95.

The slides are made using the same standards as Rotosound guitar strings, and provide the same variety to match various preferences.
