Squier introduces the Eva Gardner Precision Bass, a traditional style P Bass with special graphics based on her tattoos.

Since Eva did not want to “re-invent the wheel”, she decided to simply combine all her favorite P Basses into a single instrument, highlighting the details that she preferred.

The distinguishing graphic of this bass is found just above the bridge, a recreation of Gardner’s clipper ship tattoo.

Other personalized features include special 12th-fret inlay graphics, a finger rest on the pickguard, matching black painted headstock, and Eva Gardner’s signature on the back of the headstock.

If you haven’t heard of Eva, Fender provided a brief background: “Eva Gardner has lent her formidable bass talents to artists including the Mars Volta, Lyra, Veruca Salt, Telstar and Pink.” Her thumping bass lines were heard on Pink’s recent performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

On the specs of the bass, the body is made from basswood, paired to a maple neck. The neck has a comfortable “C” Shape with a scale length of 34″, fretboard radius of 9.5″ and nutwidth of 1.5″. It has a rosewood fretboard that matches the dark colored theme, with 20 vintage-style frets.

As for the electronics, this signature bass comes with a single Fender-designed Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup. It is traditionally wired to a master volume and tone knurled dome knobs.

Other features include a 4-saddle HiMass bridge with brass barrel saddles, standard open gear tuners and a 3-ply red shell pickguard. All the metal hardware come finished in chrome.

Being part of the Squier line, the new Eva Gardner Precision Bass is affordable priced – with an MSRP of just $499.99. Head over to Fender for more details.
