Fender 2014 Custom Deluxe Stratocaster

Fender Custom Shop expands their high-end guitar line with the new 2014 Custom deluxe Stratocaster.

Fender 2014 Custom Deluxe Stratocaster

This guitar is part of the new Fender Custom Shop 2014 models, it utilizes top-of-the-line wood, hardware and craftsmanship from Fender Custom Shop.

This guitar features a hand-selected alder body that is paired with a AAA quilted maple top. It is available in three finishes: Candy Red Transparent, Cobalt Blue Transparent and my personal favorite – Purple Transparent.

Fender picked triple A rated Birdseye maple and carved it to a 10/56 Large “V” neck profile. The neck follows traditional specifications with a scale length of 25.5″, fretboard radius of 9.5″ and nut width of 1.6875″. You can pick between maple or rosewood for the fretboard, and it comes with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays.

The guitar is equipped with a trio of Custom Shop Fat ’60s Single-Coil Strat pickups. These pickups are said to be close approximations to ’60s era Strats, with their characteristically “fat” single coil tones. The middle pickup is reverse wound in keeping with the standard SSS pickup configuration of Stratocasters. Traditional tone control is achieved via the guitar’s 5-way pickup selector, master volume knob and two tone knobs.

Other components include Sperzel locking tuners, 2-point synchronized tremolo with block saddles and a 3-ply parchment pickguard. The hardware is finished in chrome to allow the transparent finish and AAA quilted maple top to take center stage.

This high-end guitar is expected to carry a hefty price tag, with an MSRP of $4,300. You can head over to Fender for the complete details and to check out the entire 2014 Custom Shop collection.
