Features of this limited run guitar include solid mahogany body with maple top finished in pure white as the model name implies. It comes equipped with Seymour Duncan JB Humbuckers that are specifically chosen by Tommy, resulting in tones that are tried and tested to work well with many of the popular songs that he plays as a member of Kiss. This pickup is used widely by other artists as well, thanks to its capability to handle everything from blues to classic rock to high-gain metal.
Following traditional Les Paul builds, the White Lightning comes with a mahogany neck carved into a 1960s SlimTaper “D” profile. This combined with the 24.75″ scale length, deep-set glued-in neck joint and 1.68″ nut width makes the guitar easy to play. The fingerboard is crafted from rosewood and comes with 22 medium jumbo frets. Finally, a “Tommy Thayer” label is engraved on a chrome/metal truss rod cover.
