I’ve recently aquired a Norman Electric guitar. The only info I’ve been able to find about it is that it’s Canadian made by La Si Do, and it was a limited production line in the mid 1970’s. La Si Do does not have any info on it, as they say all documents relating to the electric was burned when there was a fire at the factory.
I am looking in particular for any schematic drawings of the wiring, as the previous owner butchered the electronics in it.

The guitar’s woodworking is phenominal, and it’s a great sounding axe, also very easy to play.

Anybody who has info, I would really appreciate it!

I have a white, 2-humbucking pickups Norman. There is a serial number of sorts on back of headstock at bottom, 132. Beautiful guitar, sounds great. In pretty much pristine condition.
This is the heaviest guitar I have ever owned. Heavier than Les Pauls, even heavier than Les Paul basses. I have used this guitar for studio work, primarily as a rhythm instrument.
Having just turned 70, I don’t play it much anymore. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I also own a Traynor 50-watt head with a 2-15” speaker cabinet in pristine condition. This cabinet is the heaviest 2-15 cabinet I have ever moved.
      Thanks for any info!

Is your Traynor perhaps loaded with JBL?

Hey guys, this is the only website I found talking about Norman’s gx guitar. I personally bought a used Norman Gx active bass guitar a year ago, i was wandering if you had any information, on these like the year of production or something like that and when you say there was only 12 are you reffering to bass guitars or actual guitars? anyway i don’t expect any reply but i’ll try.

        Hey!
Do you have good pictures of that bass? I used to have one years ago.

Here is the info I have:
Robert Godin’s company LaSiDo has owned Norman’s business since 1982. They were partners originally. Norman Boucher’s son Claude appears to have been in charge of the sporadic production of electric guitars/basses (“GX” series in 1987-1988, at least), but all documentation of these is supposed to have been lost in a factory fire.

Keeping my fingers crossed for pictures…

I understand 12 were made of this model – 6 active & 6 inactive . I own serial no.1 . Purchased from the late Paul Fox of the Ruts band 30 years ago.

Do you still need a wiring diagram? What arrangement does your Norman have? I just rewired mine. It’s a dual humbucker with 2 tone and 2 volume controls and a 3 way switch. Mine wasn’t too badly butchered so I used a Gibson wiring diagram as Gibson pickups have 5 wires like the pickups in my Norman. I could send you a modified diagram if you like. These are fantastic guitars. My main axe now.

        If you ever catch this…

Sure, that diagram would be helpful. Came across this now as I was searching for value range of my late father’s guitars and bass, as well as my Norman and my bass.
