RATT’s AIDS TRAGEDY

Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby has admitted to having AIDS.

Crosby went on KNAC radio and confirmed the long rumoured story that he has been fighting the virus for 7 years now.

Crosby says he got into heroin early in the Ratt career and that is how he acquired AIDS.

KNAC report that Crosby wanted to come clean and be honest with fans so they didn’t think he fell off the face of the earth and became a junkie. “I have full-blown AIDS” he says at knac.com. “Basically, it’s killing me. I’ve got a terminal disease. Recently, I went in for surgery cause my back hurt so bad, and they got all this infectious fluid out and then they found that my bones were not getting oxygen under the infectious fluid which is called osteomyalitis. I’ve been in the hospital for eight straight months and in and out for over seven years”.

Ratt’s brash, melodic heavy metal made the Los Angeles quintet one of the most popular rock acts of the mid-’80s. The group had its origins in the ’70s group Mickey Ratt, which had evolved into Ratt by 1983
