Get where the fun really is….. The simplicity and beauty of the ukulele says it all. The good news is the finger patterns on the 4 smallest guitar strings are also ukulele chords….. so you don’t have to learn a lot new to have fun. Both new ukes and vintage ukes and banjo ukes are available. Find yourself a palm tree and a hula girl in your mind, grab a uke and let the fun begin.

I actually have a Tiple.{Was my Mothers, purchased in 1929 & just got it Reworked]
It is recomended to tune it like a Ukulele "GCEA"
or it could be tuned as "BF#DA"
The above need to be transposed to play in conjunction w/ a Guitar.
I only know the cords for a Guitar.
I guess I could tune the Tiple like a Guitar "DGBA".
Where can I get the Cording for a Ukulele.
Or I guess I would need to learn how to transpose, up a 4th.[Guitar C major,Tiple F major]
If you have any suggestions or product that could help, I would appreciate. I’m not looking to get this help for nothing.
Thanks,
Ken
I know this song might be impossible to play, but I was wondering if anyone had the chords for Queen’s "Dreamer’s Ball"? I am new at this so I’d appreciate any help.
Need uke chords for good riddance by Green Day
Hi everyone,
I think this song would be great on the ukulele. Sadly, I can’t even find the guitar chords for it anywhere. The only thing available online is a complicated tab with lots of jazzy stuff (yay, Brian May!) Now, I’m at level B I’d say when it comes to ukulele. I can handle a lot of sevenths and pick around a bit, but I sure would like to have just a rough guide to this song with just the chords. Nothing too too simple but I something basic I can noodle around with. Any help?
What song? Queen’s what?
: What song? Queen’s what?
Damn it, I forgot to post the song title. It’s Queen’s "Dreamer’s Ball"
It would be great to have "Good Company" too (since that one actually is played on a uke).
i want to learn to play ukulele. the ukulele i have came with

I am a new Uke player and have never played a guitar however my friends do and I am having trouble playing the same chords as them (it just does not always sound correct or is a very hard transition). I have a Tenor Uke tuned to DGBE per the instructions from where I purchased it and wonder if there is some type of Guitar to Uke translation chart or program. Should I be translating? If yes where do I go to get help on the web?

Here is a link to a ukulele tuning page.
Pay close attention to the correct tuning (see charts), which will depend on the type of Ukulele you use. (Soprano, Concert, etc.)
At the bottom of the page there are links which will give you "Tuning Notes" via sound… real easy to tune with.

Hi Josh,
There’s a great ukulele site with songs and chords at http://www.ezfolk.com. If you like hawaiian style music, there’s also a site at http://www.mele.com that has plenty of songs for you to jam to, just click on the lyrics site when you get there.
Hope that helps 🙂

I have been searching the web for electric ukes and i’ve found that E-bay sells a few. Most of the time they’ve just got semi-acoustics but occasionally there are some good solid body electric ukes which are hand-made. Check it out.
I have a electric ukulele pageIIam a luthier)on my website here
http://www.michaeljking.com
I know there is an eletric uke but, they are pricey. I need to find out what type of pick-up to use when making one.
This popular thread has been given its own page : Re: electric ukulele
Greetings,I’ve had the best luck so far using a national resophonic ukulele, because theyre nice&loud and crispy on their own and then mikin it up with a sm57 condenser or even better a more expensive unidirectional mic.I have a konablaster and its midgrade at best,I’ve played ovation ukes but I dont like the plastic body sound,I’ve had transducer pickups and they always break and the adhesive runs out.I think resonators are the way to go.Specimen ukes seem really nice, but too damn *#$! expensive.I’ve never played one,but I would definetly be interested in a used one,or something of such quality at a more realistic price.Anyone please email me with any info.much thanks all, jah guide,
Mikelele Renna
Check out the Risa -> http://www.risa-music.de
It supposedly is a little larger than a uke, but I always have trouble getting my fingers squashed in on my soprano uke anyway, and the Risa is fully electric.
i own one of the risa’s. they are great. i play alot of rock and roll. totaly gnarly dude
Found this recently….

Hello Dirk,
Hi my name is chris. I have seen electric guitar-style ukuleles before. I haven’t ever seen people making them but I’ve seen one person playing on before. So I’m starting to make one of my one. E-mail me if you have any comments.

Funny, I’ve been thinking just the same thng. Ran across your note searching the web for the phrase "electric ukulele.
Several companies make acoustics with pickups, but I suspect that a solid-body electric would have to be a home project. I’m looking for a neck that’s amenable to that sort of use now. I think guitar parts would be OK for everything else, just waste the two extra strings.
I am building my own solid body, electric uke. The parts I am using are mainly from the fluke uke.

Wow, sounds great… have you finished it yet? Would you give some specifics? I’m thinking of building one, too!

Yeah. There are many types of electric instruments that you can obtain. The acoustic/electric ones are basically acoustic ukes that you can hook up to an amp so you can make it louder. Kinda like those acoustic guitars that you can amp.
The only real option for an electric ukulele that you don’t have to build yourself is the Konablaster. Those risa electrics are pieces of s**t because they use Low-G tuning which was made by guitar players. So don’t buy that one.
I think the konablaster is a really good choice if you’re looking for a steel-strung uke… but if you want the good ‘ole nylon get an acoustic/electric. (If you’re a serious uke player get both)

This is werd so was I Dude
Michael Cameron of Hobgoblin Music in Rathbone Place, London makes some pretty mean electrics. The band, "The Ukulele Kings" use customs made by him.
