Nice gear Man!!! I want your Framus LOL. Looks like you like the vintage stuff too. Kick A** dude!!!
Bassman5000ParticipantI use a Ibanez SR400 or SR405. Havivg the actice electronics with a bass adjust on my instument, one on my amp and one on my pedal, I adjust my sound clean before I use it and then adjust from there. I use very little on the pedal because what I have already gives me enough bass. All I really use it for is to add a little color to my sound during long heavy guitar solos because we are a four piece band with one guitar. I find that when the bass is a little dirty, it really fills up the emptiness that the rythym guitar leaves. That and it sure is fun playing anesthisia/pullin teeth live !!!
Bassman5000ParticipantI have a fender acoustic 4. I find that because it has the electronics in it, I just turn down my EQ on my Yorkville Bassmaster 800 and adjust on the guitar. It sounds great!! I find if the EQ is turned up alot it really muddies up the sound but with the amp EQ low I have alot of room to adjust with the bass.
Bassman5000ParticipantSwweeett!! I’m a groupie now LOLOLOL

Bassman5000Participantwell then… My list has to start with Cliff Burton of mettalica. anything he did from to live is to die to Hit the lights, you can’t say enough about a life that was wasted so soon. My list of riffs is long so I will try to name some gooders:
-wild nights-John mellencamp
-Detroit rock city -Kiss
-Duece-Kiss
-lucretia-Megadeth
-are you gonna go my way -Lenny Kravitz
-are you gonna be my girl-Jet
-the trooper-iron maiden
-aces high- iron maiden
-war pigs-black sabbath
-smoke on the water-deep purple (surprise surprise but how it walks during the solo……*drool*drool*drool*)Man so many just popped in my head I’m gonna stop there!! You’d be readin all nite hehehe 😀
Bassman5000Participantpersonally I like the reliability of solid state. I have a single tube amp right now (yorkville bassmater 800) but I dont like the tone change when I turn it to “tube drive”. What it should have said is “overdrive” because that is all I get, distortion. I love the amp otherwise!! Clean and crisp and clear lows mids and highs. When I plug into the PC through an Audigy 2 then record using Adobe Audition (formerly cake walk) it is crystal clear!! I how you can hear every single missed note or fouled up note which is kinda frustrating!! But the clarity is there. I love analog but the “hiss” drives me nuts. I was born mid seventies so I now bout analog(still break out my vinyl once and a while) and still love it, but with the technology we have today, why not record as clear as clear can be??? It does sound a whole lot better 🙂
Bassman5000ParticipantI just bought a Line 6 bass pod live or somethin like that. I HATE IT!!!! I totally wasted my money (I will eventually take it back) First the thing comes with a 100 or so page book??!!! after three pages it started to sound like chinese!! I couldn’t understand a damn word they were sayin’. I’m with the guy erlier in the forum about K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) I hate having to push pedals when I’m playin live. All I use is a Boss ODB-3 and a Boss TU-2 tuner. I only use the OD for heavier songs like metallica& megadeth, but very little. The OD gives more “growl” during the “chugging” parts. I also have a Zoom 607, Let’s just say it has been in my gig bag for 3 years now LOL. In my books effects suck!! Usally the pedals are too complicated(take the Line 6) or they dont really do a whole lot to the sound. Boss is the only manufaturer that I found to change the sound. I have used the flanger and also the delay and they kick a**!! Other than that effects suck! 😕
Bassman5000ParticipantThanx all!!! 😀 Glad the info helped!! Yeah I am a “bassman”. Been playin’ pro.for ’bout 8yrs and I started ’bout 15 yrs ago. I should be postin’ some gear pic’s on the bass forum soon!!
Bassman5000ParticipantHere is the info taken of the webpage for you:
How to identify your Framus bass or guitar
Until 1981 you can identify the year of construction by a number which is engraved in the headstock. The structure of the number is: [serial-no.]-[year of construction] [month as a letter]Sample: “4855-64 H†means “August 1964â€
Semi-acoustic and hollowbody guitars have a label inside the body.
There you can find the number of model, serial-stamp, year of construction and month (as a letter). Maybe there is an order number too.Sample: 5/59 = “Sorella”, 35062 = Serial No. (no statement about manufacture sequence), 61 I = September 1961
After 1981 different keys were used. Often you find two different numbers at the same model, one at the headstock and another inside the body.
If you can’t identify your model feel free to contact:
[email protected]I hope this helps.
