Guys, I have the same Guitar with the same issue! …so I fully dumped it which resulted in cracking the block. …Please keep me posted if you find anything??? Thank you in advance!
Same guitar, same issue eh? No more of these units to be found… coincidence?

I haven’t heard back on any of my leads but I really haven’t tried a real luthier who may have a stash of old parts in a junk bin that may replace my block. I should do this. The block is the only broken part. This was not a good whammy but if you know how to use it, it’s workable. I personally don’t do the 70/80’s EVH thing anymore. So what do I care. It’ll just be a fancy string retainer.

I was in the midst of swapping in some Seymour Duncans when the block broke upon reassembly. P’d me right off because I didn’t get to try out the new tone. I’ll post my findings if I come up with a replacement that actually fits.

    Cheers from BC
I have one of these guitars and am looking for a replacement bridge. It is floyd rose licensed but the spacing between the mounting studs is only 72cm (about 2 13/16″) not 74cm. Any ideas or suggestions?
Dude, I have a Charvette which just had it’s cast-metal whammy block cracked into about 3 peices two nights ago. I’m trying to find an economic replacement whammy that will fit that narrow 70mm-72mm post configuration but can’t find anything. The measurement across the posts looks closer to 70mm to me. I’m considering going to a guitar fix-it to see if they can source me an aftermarket block so that I can avoid the price of a whole new whammy system which I don’t use anyway. I’m still hoping to find something on the web that’ll cost even less though. I’m wondering if you have your Charvette whammy in one peice still. I’m secretly hoping that you’re just upgrading and would consider selling me your used whammy or just the block.

I still love my Charvette. It shares a rack with a Taylor, a US Strat, and a Pacifica. Mine was one of the early batches off the line. I haven’t looked at the newer ones but this one was built like a mid-80’s Squire MIJ Strat and worth keeping so I’m going to try and hunt down a bridge solution before considering a full-scale alteration. If I can’t find a replacement whammy solution, I’ll get the tools out and retrofit a bridge.

    CHeers!
