If I actually had the opportunity to play this thing I would make sure that my pants, my shirt, my in ear headphones, my hat, and my shoes all had flames on them as well. The first song I would play would be called Ghost Rider’s In The Sky. My friends, this occasion would be truly epic.

With some of these guitars what I honestly do is close my eyes while I am playing and imagine what I would look like with it in my hands. Just imagine me with my jeans and a t-shirt, rocking klipsch headphones and playing a Mickey Mouse guitar.
How jealous would you guys be if I told you I learned the double stop from Leo Kottke himself?
The lesson he gave me was very simple. It started out by having me just go in to my own zone by listening to double stops in my headphones. Once we actually got a good understanding of the rhythm and timing of double stops we began to practice and really those are the basic steps I remember. Even the masters can make it simple.

in reply to: Reelin’ in Randall: An Interview with Elliott Randall #74616

This is a great interview with a truly iconic human being. So many people in the music industry stay so very narrowly focused and Elliott Randall branched out in more ways than one. He is one of the guys who did it more for the music than for anything else. Not too many dollar signs got him distracted…

best bet is going to be getting a hold of an appraiser or maybe convincing the local pawn shop to help you with information (no transactions of course)
