1Bass where’s the pix, we want to see some of this new axe. BTW do you have an opinion on this , a bit pricy for a starter bass and not too likely to find one used but I might just go this way anyway.

USGoldParticipantIs this just Stinky Cheese or did woodpeckers attack this axe?
USGoldParticipantNumbering conventionHarmony’s model numbers consisted of an ‘H’ followed by a 2 to 4 digit number. The ‘H’ stood for the name of the company.
[edit] Model and date stampsHarmony hollow-body instruments were marked with inkstamps within the body of the instrument. A model/batch number of the form nnnnHmmmm where ‘nnnn’ is a batch number and ‘mmmm’ is a model number (‘6072H950’ for example would be an H950 model). They were also stamped with a date stamp with the season and two-digit year (‘F-45’ would indicate the instrument was manufactured in the fall of 1945). Only ‘F-xx’ and ‘S-xx’ are found as date stamps, S could be summer, perhaps Harmony synchronized its orders with the main catalog distributors (as Sears & Roebuck, Montgomery Wards). A former Harmony employee reported a different scheme: “We worked 10 hours, 5 days a week, any 8 more every Saturday. That was both shifts. I believe the “F” and “S” on the serial numbers was for first or second shift.”
USGoldParticipantThe peavey’s too loud for a bedroom so I practice with this.

USGoldParticipantInteresting; I’m a huge fan of Climax Blues Band
USGoldParticipantThis isn’t an UGLY , not sure it’s beautiful but it sure is interesting, might be awkward to play , I probably should have put this in acoustic, but there isn’t a thread there that relates, according to the web site, British luthier Andy Manson made this for John Paul Jones.

USGoldParticipantDeano; are you sure about the model number, according to the database Harmony made a model 88 but it was an electric guitar, possible you’re reading a serial number instead of model?http://harmony.demont.net/guitars/H88/228.htm
here’s a link for Harmony guitars, did you check the guitar blue book ? concerning value?
USGoldParticipantI truly dislike the “metal” “goth” and “death” guitars whether bass or 6’s. Wonder what these POS’s will be worth in 30-40 years, when the fad has shifted to something else, not like a classic LP or Strat/Tele
