Maplebaby –
Thank you for posting that video and for the tutorial itself. Your explanation is clear and easy to follow. You mentioned your students, and I imagine that you must have quite a few of them, given how you demo the song.
I believe that is the first time I’ve ever heard a PRS hollow body – at least knowingly. Sounds cool.
You also refer to the tremolo settings on your amp, but I wasn’t able to see it. What kind of amp is it?
Thanks again.
findaguitarteacherParticipantI’ve never seen or heard of a Saunders Bass but I’ve heard of a bass player by the name of Tony Saunders who has played bass (and other instruments) for a number of well-known artists since the late 70’s. I know it’s a stretch, but I can’t help but wonder if there is a connection of some sort.
findaguitarteacherParticipantI’ve learned various finger styles over the years – ragtime, travis, bossa nova, blues etc. At this point in my playing, however, I find myself variably playing with fingers at one time and playing with a pick or picks at another. I think I’ve come to a point where I’m more motivated by what kind of vibe I’m feeling.
findaguitarteacherParticipantThat’s great. Thanks for posting the reference to your YouTube video – very cool changes and clearly explained. I also liked your reference to “grips” for chords – hadn’t heard that before. I’ve often wondered if John Mayer was using open tuning on that song but hadn’t explored any further.
