😯 OMFG 😯 Hmmm ,there may be a market for some of my son’s starter amps after all.
myfootParticipant
Q: nuts… did jimmy page use this amp ? May-08-08
A: No, Mikki Moody
myfootParticipant😛 😛
myfootParticipant😛 I’ll probably buy the metro tube retainers. Can’t go wrong for $10 .
I opted for a voltage selector switch instead of the bulgin.Transformer comes with all the right taps so I figured why not?
Thanks for the advice .BTW NOS Bulgin plugs are high as hell too, The metro store lists this “mini”

http://store.metroamp.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=kt66&osCsid=n5ufgg6hco5t1hr3o84q399s40&x=7&y=10There’s no link to what you and Lee have been ” 😯 “ing about so I don’t know what the $50 variety looks like.
Took out the link when I didn’t get any bumps…apparently they are getting that price out of these. I can’t believe there are no repros out there. Anyhow here is the pic what I was looking for
http://webpages.charter.net/rmweb/Parts/Quad-KT66-88-retainers.jpgBTW got my transformers and sockets installed for my 45/100 . Got most of the parts but am waiting for the filter caps and swamp resistors before I get started soldering.
Here’s a link to a build at metroamp
http://forum.metroamp.com/viewforum.php?f=32I have some diodes left over but I like the looks of these and may use these instead :
http://store.metroamp.com/images/Metal%20Diode%20copy.gifFigured this was gonna be my last build (Marshall anyway) So I’m toying with the idea of making it look as authentic as possible . I did not opt for the bulgin power connection though.
myfootParticipantMay want to ask over to the plexi palace..They have some folks there that know everything Marshall
http://vintageamps.com/plexiboard/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=04237a63f0a8f59328144e26ede8631emyfootParticipantI think that’s good advice 😆 TBH I was thinking when I first started looking that they couldn’t be to expensive. That’s why I’m here looking.’
But you’re right, I’ll be the only one to know they’re in there.myfootParticipant
Yeah no sh*t.. 😛 Actually I figure there must be someone that makes repros somewere..I can’t justity that kind of money for these. I was thinking these were gonna be pricey , but not this pricey.myfootParticipant
A beardy bloke instantly springs to mind but I can’t for the life of me remembeer who it is
Billy Gibbons perhaps??myfootParticipant😯 That would definately qualify as THE most optimistic ebayer I’ve seen so far. How the hell you price something like this that far above new price is beyond me.
myfootParticipant
Something tells me you wanted to see this auction crash and burn…
😛 😛 😈 It wasn’t that long ago that other marshall head went for $1425 ( https://www.guitarsite.com/hotlicks/viewtopic.php?t=4076 )It’s almost amazing sometimes what some people try to sell and what some are willing to pay .
myfootParticipantUp to $405 with 9 hours left…Surprisingly hasn’t hit the reserve yet 😉 Be interesting to see if he relists with a lower BIN or if someone will swoop in at the end and buy it .
myfootParticipant
Those handles look a bit cheap, and is the Marshall badge on wonky?
Yeah for being meticulous, the marsthall logo isn’t on straight.
You could buy a dsl and a fancy headbox (without the fancy handles ) for about half of that BIN. Be interesting to see how high it goes..It hasn’t moved off the opening $100 bid yet 😛myfootParticipantBIN of $3750
An ebayer has pointed out to me that there are no “top” vents for vertical heat dissapation. As stated in the listing, this is NOT an everyday player. So one should not expect to have this amp running all the time
