gimme the hot rod surf guitar dude!! surf’s up! the nez is an updated and hot rodded strat in essence. i played surf long before i played the blues. those lp vintage models are low quality do-overs of an old design.
my point was that the quality of the nez is better than the lp. but if you like dinosaurs, than that’s fine too!!! 😉

    8) personal preference here. the lp is probably made in memphis (i could be wrong on that) and is an ok guitar. won’t stay tuned long and the wood isn”t the best. not really a top quality guitar, especially for the name. the ibanez may be another matter. is it twin humbuckers? and i’m sure it has a whammy bar. probably a more versatile guiar than the lp and i’m sure it plays fast and has great pups.
personally i would get the ibanez. ok, i said it! lp’s are heavy and dated–not vintage in my book. i’m an old surf and blues player but i would still get the ibanez. I like the strat syle body and the fact that the axe doesn’t weigh 20 lbs.
but i’m an old guy and subject to fits!! let us know what you decide and how you like your new guitar!! 8)

😆 OK–finally got registered and logged in! old guy here, been playing since the early 60’s. blues, surf, rock, whatever! yardbirds freak too! no band these days, let the younger guys have their shot at it. currently playing a godin detour thru a h&k blue edition 60, as well as 3 dano reissues and a traynor reverb mate 40. and the taylor baby m when i don’t feel like plugging in.
not partial to tube or solidstate amps, not into the fender-gibson wars. i play guitars and amps that have a sound i like! not real picky but i do have my own thoughts on the subject!
glad to be here and just gonna sit and watch for a spot to jump in! peace
