Information about Goya G-20 purchased in the early 60’s
Looking for info on Goya 12 string acoustic Model#TS14 Serial#17300S made in Sweden Goya Guitars Inc. NY
I have a 12 string acoustic Goya made in Sweden Model#TS14 Serial #17300S Goya Guitars Inc. NY I would like to know when it was made and the price. Thank You.
Thank You Wouter for Your time and the info. Love my new toy.
All the best,

I just acquired a beautiful concert size Goya M-22 S# 210536
Wandering if anyone knows what year it was manufactured?
It’s in very nice condition. All original,no cracks and holds the tune really good.
What is it worth?
If you see the label, you’ll notice the 2-digit address code (10 N.Y.).
Your guitar was manufactured shortly before 1963, when the 5-digit Zip-code was introduced.
Many M-22 guitars have been produced, so it’s not an unique instrument.
The group of Levin enthusiasts is steadily increasing, so the guitar will keep its value.
(some hundreds of dollars)
Enjoy playing this guitar !
I’ve had this guitar since the early 60’s. I know it isn’t worth a lot of money. It hasn’t been played in a few year. I took it out of its case tonight and found a crack in the face, below the bridge. Is it worth having it repaired?
Thanks for any guidance!
I recently had a goya g340 passed down to me. I have been trying to find information about this guitar but can’t find a thing. Can anyone help me with a value, time frame, how rare? It’s in excellent condition and is in a original hard shell case.
Thanks,
BB
The japanese Goya’s have far less value than the original Swedish guitars.
The Japanese plain jane G200’s generally go for $175-200 on ebay and your G340 is worth around $300 – $325.
Last one I saw that sold for $325 :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Goya-G340-Handcrafted-dreadnought-acoustic-guitar-in-1977-/170787437496?ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123
I bought a G340 last year with a cracked bridge for $120
Nice guitars, but lacking the collectability of the original Swedish Goya/Levins.
Greetings from Oz,may wellbeing and Harmony be your constant companions. l recently found this well crafted beautiful sounding Goya/Martin acoustic model G 1 10 made in Korea amongst several dirt and dust laden guitars. These guitars were salvaged after record floods inundated Brisbane and swept away people livestock and cmplete towns in out laying rural areas. Most including the Goya were found above the water line with 2 that went under left caked in mud and silt that all but destroyed inside labels .one is a Palmer 12 string ac/elec. But the Goya is in really good condition given its history.l payed $120 for the 7 The previous owner just lost his passion to clean them up and get them playable.
I have a beautiful, restored Goya G-10 classical guitar. My grandfather purchased it back in the 1950s as a gift for my grandmother. It’s in beautiful condition and sounds brand new. It’s missing the high e string but perfect other than that. I have no use for it and it just sits in the case. It’s such a beautiful sounding guitar a shame it’s going to waste. I’m looking to sell it. If you’re interested, please email me. I have pictures as well.

If still available would consider buying. Thank you, Mark
I have an old 50ties or older Goyer guitar, it has no marking on it, I think the piece with the information on it, is inside the guitar rattling around, so can’t tell you much more than that about it, the guarantee is still in the case along with some Martin strings, and there is an old case with it in pretty decent shape. white plate around the hole, rest is dark tan front with light brown neck and sides, nice old guitar, what am I offered, please email me at [email protected] Thank you for your time JoAnn

I have a G10 Goya Guitar made in Sweden and sold by Goya Guitar Inc. in New York. The serial number is 32011. The guitar is in excellent shape. Do you know how much it is worth? Thanks.
Jackie
Hello.
I own a beautiful Goya G-10 with a serial number “328837.” According to the Goya serial number chart that should make it a 1955. I also have a 1934 Levin mandolin that is in excellent condition and that I play a lot in my son’s band.
I no longer need the G-10 and plan on listing it on Ebay later this week.
I have read that the G-10 wasn’t even introduced until much later than 1955. I really don’t know or particulary care. I’m just stating what the label says and what the chart says about the serial number on the label. Mainly, I wanted to share this with other Levin/Goya lovers so you can see this beautiful guitar on Ebay this coming weekend.
Thanks for your consideration…Kelly
Is your G-10 still for sale?
I would be interested in purchasing this guitar.
Please post some photos and price to me by email.
[email protected]
Hello. It has already been sold on Ebay for $295. Thanks for your interest…kelly

Hi i bought a Model M30,…..30 some years ago serial number 4565….i was wonder is it worth much and where can i get cleaned upin canada ….still has strings on it and sounds like it did when it was new…
I have a Goya M-75 Acoustic Medalist series Guitar Serial#4,755 made in Korea that has the original sticker on the pick guard on the face of the guitar that reads CF Martin originisation on it. It was bought for me as a kid which would make it over 30 years old. I recently had someone appoach me to buy it, sentimentally I want to keep it but have a lot of guitars and not alot of room. Can anyone tell me if this is considered vintage and if I sell will I kick myself later if it is worth a mint.
Please help I don’t want to disappoint the prespective buyer but my dad bought it for me years ago and he passed away 14 years ago, if it is a vintage model I would keep it if not I would sell. Someone Please help!
I have a Goya g311 for sale. It has all stones in the neck. It needs no work just strings
Bought this many years ago. It’s mint
Trying to find out what it’s worth.
I have a semi hollow body electric (Similar to a Gibson ES335) It has two humbucker style pickups
– Made in Italy
– Model Number 103SAS
– Number 1937
This guitar has the fastest neck I have ever experienced….like playing a buttered neck. Very small (bano-like) frets.
It has some cracks in the finish and the electronics need to be replaced. Should I have this guitar refinished, and update with quality pickups and electronics? Or, am I going to de-value an original vintage guitar that has some value?
The sticker inside my guitar says “Goya by Martin Guitars Model #G145S.” I love this guitar. Can you tell me what it might be worth. Thanks.
It says please contact 376 for this guitar on sale. How to do that ?
916-947-0685 anytime Sacramento, CA
I am parting with my Goya GC-10 guitar, serial 78110, bought new in 1978, for about $600 (?). I haven’t seen another Goya like it.
It is a fairly high-grade instrument in mint condition, with rosewood neck, sides, back, bridge with ivoroid fittings, fancy 6-ring purfling, and a “butterfly” headstock with no name. The label is silver with a red-lettered “Goya” and Handcrafted” and model number in black (no location is provided). Original Hard shell case.
It this a Martin Goya, Japanese made, or other? Market value? Anyone interested?
Martin took over manufacture of Goya brand guitars in late 70s in Japan then later Korea and finally Taiwan during the 90s. They stopped production in 1996. General consensus of opinion is that these later guitars were not the same quality as the earlier Swedish made ones made by the Levin Company. Condition IS everything when valuing this guitar with an average price running between $3-400 currently (in excellent condition)
I inherited this Goya years ago, and though I can’t play, I’ve kept it, hoping that one of my kids would become interested. It’s been taken care of, kept it in the case, in a temp & humidity controlled room, but I noticed that there is a crack on the face of the body. It is a 1978 model, I believe, based on what I’ve found out about it, serial Takamine 78023166. Is there anything I can do for it now? My kids prefer other instruments at this point, but they do appreciate the quality of sound from this guitar, & it would be a shame for it to deteriorate. Thanks
Does anyone have a Goya GG 45 guitar for sale? Thanks.
Hi,Was wondering if anybody has a goya g375 for sale.i will pay top price for one in good condition

I have one. Would you happen to know what they’re worth. I inherited mine
I have one in mint condition. I might part with it for the right price, and i’m not sure what that would be. I haven’t considered it. I just happened by your post.
Hi, Haven’t heard back from you about your goya g375.The price will be good if you do want to sell.
cheers
Hi,
I am interested and if you want to discuss price, email to [email protected]
cheers
Yeah I got one, have had it since I bought it new back in 1980 or 81, sounds like a vintage Martin D-28 with curly maple sides, but I’d never ever part with it. It’s just too amazing and everybody who’s played it wants it. Good luck finding one!
I have a Goya G600EN in excellent condition, I have had it for @ 17 years, how much is it worth?
I’m looking for one. I played one for 40 years until my house burned down and took my Goya with it. I’ve played just about everything else, but the G-30 just fits me. Been looking for quite a while.
I have one if you are still interested.
I just saw you ad looking for a G30 and was wondering if you are still looking. I have one that is reasonable shape and is an extra instrument in the presence of Martins and Guilds. If you are interested, drop me a line.
Play on,
Jack
I am still looking for the right guitar, and yes, I’m still interested in the G-30. My kids gave me a Martin DM, which is really quite a nice guitar, but I’ve been a nylon string guy since my first 00-18-g, then the G-30 that burned up. Let me know.
Thanks.
Send me an email address and I will send you some pics of the instrument.

i have a goya model g-30 with a seriel # 99316… has original case..also a price tag of 399.50 which has a guarantee on back …. has a signature in ink on price tag that says edward hershman …. label inside guitar says goya guitars inc. new york 10 ny…below that is made in sweden .. i would like to know the year of manufacture but everything i have seen on sites show a 6 digit seriel number … were there any 5 digit numbers assigned to the g-30 models? thanks for any responces regarding this mystery …also this particular model does not have goya on the headstock like some goyas do ….
Hi Bob,
Yes, your Goya G-30 is a genuine 53 year old Goya.
In Spring 1959 Some 5-digit Goya’s were produced, all starting with a 9 and labeled ‘GOYA GUITARS INC., 10 N.Y.’.So these guitars predate the 6-digit Goya’s! That’s why your Goya G-30 has the headstock with the central stripes and diamonds inlay, as the Mother Of Pearl Goya logo was introduced only some months later. The fingerboard is the standard version, as the longer fingerboard with 22 frets for the high strings was introduced a year later. The neck of your guitar will show the broad maple stripe in the middle. All Goya G-30 guitars were constructed very well, only the best materials were used for these high end guitars. Thanks to the original case you’ve still got, the colors of the inlays around corners and soundhole could be well preserved. Also the lacquer could have been protected by the case (some crazing of the laquer is common for old instruments). This all will add to the value of your rare guitar. The original price on your price tag can easily be doubled, or tripled if the guitar is in good condition.
Wouter
DO YOU know THE MEASUREMENTS of this instrument ( the CG-30 ) or are they the same as the large box on the G-30 ?
Would certainly appreciate a reply. Thanks. Stu Goldberg [email protected] 916-947-0685
thank you for taking time to tell me about my guitar … at last the mystery of 5 digit serial number is solved..your knowledge is deeply appreciated … and you were spot on in your description of the headstock and the inlays … i had to buy this guitar for 150 in order to get an old national slide guitar.. the owner wouldn’t sell just one .. so i feel i made a good investment …
I bought this new in 1960, took lessons for five years, and haven’t touched it since. Seems to be in perfect condition, no cracking. Thought I would start playing it again, but find that my fingers don’t work right anymore. Available to a good home, complete with hard case.
Hi. Please contact me with all the details if you still have the G20 for sale. Thanks.
JGF
Thanks for your interest, but when I was underwhelmed by responses on this site I ended up offering it on Ebay and just sold it a few days ago. For general interest, I advise that I started the auction at $450, there were 9 bidders, and the best offer was $700 plus shipping.
I am also interested in the whole package you’re offering for sale. I have an old Goya F-11 made in 1963 I think and would love to own another of this vintage. Please send info and details, including price, to [email protected] and I can do this quickly
I am looking for a Goya Guitar. Are you still trying to place yours in a good home? I would be very interested in pictures if you have them.
Thanks for your interest. Yes, I still have the instrument. I think I should make a correction in my original posting. After recently reading about crazing being normal in something this old, I took it outside on a nice, sunny day, and under the bright lighting I did observe with difficulty some minor crazing in the finish. Couldn’t see this under indoor lights. I don’t presently have any pictures, but could get some if this would be useful. (I’m pretty sure the slight irregularities in the finish would not be visible however. I also would give several inches worth of guitar music to the buyer if wanted. Ranging from beginners instruction books to somewhat advanced classical and folk.
Adding to my comment above, I have taken some pictures that turned out fairly well. Can send them to you via e-mail if you wish to give your address.
Oh, Great! you can send pictures to me at [email protected]. Can you send the serial number if possible. Thank you. JT
. . . Oops! that was supposed to be model TS-5! thanks.
hi. can you please tell me the year of manufacture of the following goya 12-string acoustic guitar? the label says “Model T-5, Serial no. 4124018. ” below that its says, “Goya Music, New York, New York 10010.” right below that it says “Made in Sweden.” on the left side of the label, to the left of the large, cursive “Goya,” there’s a small stamped circle with the words “Inspected by G.M.” i guess that because it was made in sweden, it was made by hagstrom? or could it be by levin? thanks for your help. any idea of the value, also? it’s in excellent condition, plays perfectly well, and stays surprisingly in tune for a 12-string. many thanks.
Hi Richard,
You have a genuine Levin made Goya Guitar !
Made in Sweden, probably mid 1970.
The value of the guitar depends a lot on its condition, so I cannot advice you on that.
The Swedish guitar builder Levin, did a great job in building well constructed guitars that already last for many decades !
So after 40 years or more this guitar continues to show its excellent quality.
What would it cost to replace such a beauty !
Wouter
Maybe you can help…I have a G-10, Serial # 304545. Searching different databases, I have narrowed down the manufacture date to 1954 due to the start/end numbers. 1954 serial numbers began with 303552, ended with 321200. However, my G-10 was purchased new in 1964 from Whittle Music in Dallas, TX. How can I determine the actual mfg date? Thanks.
Hi Bill,
The Levin Serial Number list is applicable when the guitar label should read: ‘AB HERMAN CARLSON LEVIN’.
Your guitar will have ‘GOYA GUITARS INC.’ on the label instead. Also the 5 digit ZIP-code of New York.
Zip Codes were only announced in April, 1962 and mandatory for use on July 1, 1963.
I think is that your guitar has been made in December 1964. Do you recall it as a Christmas gift?
Hope I could help you with this.
Wouter
Thanks for the info. I believe you are correct. It was purchased in Dec, ’64, not a gift tho. Here’s another question…I saw a G-10 advertised on Guitar Center web site recently that looked exactly like mine on sale for $469.00. (initial price of $699.00). I paid a total of $129.00 for mine in “64. Has the value gone up that much? Thanks.
Hi Bill,
I saw this guitar (lot 106412706) on the ‘usedgear’ page too.
Of course one can ask $469.99 for a Goya G-10 and even offer this as a bargain (from $699.99), but that doesn’t reflect its real value.
Guitars made of solid birch back and sides won’t improve in time like guitars made of more precious woods would.
So the quality of the guitar wouldn’t account for high prices. There were many G-10 ‘s made, so these weren’t very rare.
Many were used excessively, so most guitars show signs of wear. That makes mint condition Goya G-10 guitars rare.
The Swedish guitar builder Levin, did a great job in building well constructed guitars that already last for many decades !
But even if this particular guitar would be in a unused condition, I don’t see the price exceed $269.99.
I hope this doesn’t disappoint the seller too much, as one would definitely grow attached to such a nice guitar in time.
Wouter
… i am seeking a case for a Greco model 123 (ser# 10764)… what do i need to know to not get ripped off?
… following up on my previous comment, i really need to know the dimensions of the guitar itself, so that i can find a case which would fit properly…
I have had my Goya G145 guitar for easily over 18 years and it is in perfect condition with all labels intact. Its been stored and hasn’t seen any action in years. Thinking of selling it but I have NO CLUE how I should price.
Any suggestions??
I am trying to find out any info I can about a Goya gm16 Mandolin I would like to know origin and value if I could It is a great sounding instrument just want to know what we have
I have a goya model 970 with serial. The paper tag is still in excellent condition. I am trying to find its value. I have it looked at today by a company associated with the tv show treasure hunters. He told me that he would give me 30.00. LOL Any help would be greatly apprecited.
I have acquired a Goya Guitar that does not seem to appear in any of the catalogs (on vintage-guitars.se or on goyaguitars.tripod.com sites).
I have put some photos on my website. Access http://www.tdziebarth.com and select “Goya Guitar” to get to my Picasa Album. You can blow up any of the photos you need to.
My dimensions MATCH a Goliath size guitar: Overall 39 1/4 high, body 20″ high, upper bout 11 3/4″, lower bout 15 7/8″, depth 4 1/2″.
It appears to have a flame maple back and sides (by wood grain) and is a rich red-brown mahogany color.
Looking inside, it does have 6 holes under the bridge in about the right position/size/shape to have been bridge pin holes.
The odd things seem to be:
1. There is NO MODEL NUMBER printed on the label inside! The serial# is 190415. This serial number is also stamped on the inside of the side.
2. It has pick guards on the face, but a nylon-string type bridge. It has nylon strings.
3. It has a rosewood bridge with two bone/ivory strips through it much like the ones used on later models with steel strings
4. It’s label has the pre-zip configuration stating Goya Guitars Inc., New York 10, New York implying 1964 or earlier
5. Much of it is like perhaps a 1964 F-27, but the bridge is wrong.
6. The Goya catalog for F-27 says it should have “non-adjustable T-shaped duraluminum truss rod”. I see no evidence of this (if it should be visible) on either the headstock, nor inside the body.
I have been unable to find an exact match for all the parts in any of the photos on these two websites.
Might it be some “trial” configuration, or is it a classical F-27 with it’s bridge replaced?
The F-27 catalog description says it has “fan bracing” – if you can tell me what this is I will look for it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Your guitar is indeed an F-27. I have never before seen one with classical bridge but it may be a one-off (which fits with the missing model-no on the label). The T-shapes trussrod is not externally visible but trust me, it´s there. The fanbracing can bee seen with an inspection mirror on the botton side of the spruce top. Instead of the cross-bracing which was the standard on the Goliath models the F-27 had a bracing pattern more similar to that of a classical (nylonstring) guitar. The serial number indicates manufacturing 1964 (see http://www.vintage-guitars.se/Goya_serial_numbers.htm ). I am shure You can try a light set of steelstrings on, a lot of the steel string models from Levin in the 50:s and 60:s had classical bridges.
Levin Model LM 26 Serial No 433784 what year was it made?.G
S#g10619 12 string made in Japan Thank you! Theresa
I just found a Goya Tenor (Accoustic) at my aunt’s house garage. The serial number is 172409 and it was made in Sweeden.
Does anyone have information on this four (4) string steel string guitar??? It is in very good condition. How much is a guitar like this one worth???
Wanting to buy a goya g340 or g375 guitar
I have a original G340 excellent condition with flush hard shell case.
Hi Rob,
I saw that you were looking for a G-375. That is a rare bird but I just happen to have one.
People don’t realize just how good these guitars are!
It is every bit as good of a guitar as my Martins and Gibsons.
Please email me for pics and info if you are interested.
-Thanks
Hey friend,
I have a Goya G-375. I got it as a gift and really not sure what I have. The only damage is a missing mother of pearl inset between the 4th & 5th fret. There are three inlays in a row and the small star like one on the right is missing. Otherwise it is in great shape. Any advice on worth? Anybody interested?
Thanks.
