Hi,
Just a wee bit of background about myself I am
29, and have been playing guitar/bass for 15 years .
Throughout the years I have had Gibsons, Fenders,
Rickies, Yamahas, Ibanez, Washburns etc… and was
generally very happy with what I had at that time. I
then discovered B.C. Rich guitars and was hooked.
They beat every competitor in every dep., build
quality, sound, variety of woods, pickups etc, support
was fantastic and so on. I then began to collect more
B.C. Rich’s and haven’t been disappointed with any of
them.

I have a black strat-style BC Rich. The serial # is E708675, can anyone give me details as to model, year, place of manufacture…even a rough valuation? I have no idea…
The first two digits are the year, 1970, according to this:
http://www.infowest.com/personal/g/garyh/ guitars/serialnumbers.html
Nope. The letter code denotes it as an import model. BC rich didn’t have an import line that far back.

Hey!\nI live in Europe and I am looking for a nice priced NJ Warlock (black, WHS) as you might expected as I posted here before. I noticed that prices vary a lot and I am thinking about ordering at an i-store. Fact is that I live overseas and I don’t know how much that adds to the cost for shipping. And where to order for a safe and reliable deal. Any suggestions?\n\nIzegrim\n\nP.S. check http://listen.to/xantossa for a laugh!(I’m the grunting dwarf)

Hey Dan…I have one too. From what I’ve found, the US Series are better than an NJ, but not as good as a real USA BC Rich. They are basically Imported pieces, but constructed in the USA. If you get it set up professionally, and change the pickups, it can be a killer axe. i have been looking for my old bich, that sold from world class guitar it was a trans cherry sunburst, with kahler, full electronics, cloud inlay.. i need help from a few collectors that me know it where about willing to pay finders fee and top dollar on guitar..see my webpage, may conditor any all maple or any trans color http://www.webspawner.com/users/rww115/index.html
Hey,\nI did some little research on a good guitar for little money. A while ago my eye catched the Warlock and I immidiate fell for the looks. But serious, the U.S.A.-mades are definately out of my financial reach. So there it is. I think that the NJ series look rather well and the licenced FR trem makes it very attractive to buy. A lot of buyers seem to be happy with a NJ, apart from that the humbuckers need to be replaced.\n\nMy question: If I’d buy a Warlock NJ. Would that be a smart investment? Is it a guitar that is ideal for upgrading on the longer term? Please, I don’t want tons of reasons to buy a U.S.A., but some pro’s and con’s of this specific model.\n\nIn advance, thanx for your effort…\nIzegrim
no there worth fixing up duncans & a real floyd maybe grovers plus its not like U have a collectable so its no big deal to satin finish the back of the neck & hot rod it
Buy the NJ/ Replace the electronics for another couple hundred by the time your done with the new true floyd or even beter kahler, a couple more hundred. Just find a good USED USA. Or just play the shit out of the NJ till ya can get a usa. It’s still a BC.
I have no idea what year this red Warlock NJ Series of mine was made. I bought it from a friend as a favor.\n\nNJ series with original headstock not widow or slanted. Serial number R844675\n\nAnyone could help me out on this I would appreciate it. Thanks
im restoring an 81 mockingbird I need a Vari-tone and the preamp. if anyone can help me locate one it would b great.\nmost of them made now are not the same as the old ones im loking for either an NOS peice or a used one since alot of people took them out of the guitar back then
Neal Moser is selling varitone+preamps, made (I guess) the way he used to make them once…\n\nBy the way, do you still have the old preamp??

You tell ‘im Jamie!! What a bonehead that guy was. I noticed that he didn’t come back with anything after you told him that what a Rico really was.
Hey Remo, maybe you should stick to drums. Jamie’s one of the most knowledgable guys I’ve met when it comes to BC’s. No one in this forum want to hear someone spew from the mouth in a rude tone, especially when they don’t have the facts.
Yo! fun…
i like it 🙂

nothing but idiots …BC RICH experts my ass. jackasses
I have a BC Rico neck through bass, the body style is that of the BC Rich wave. Haven`t seen many (in fact none) of them around other than this one.\nA VERY nice instrument and a joy to play.
When BC Rich first started to import guitars they called the imports BC Rico. It seems the Rico name was already copyrighted and only a few quitars were imported under that name. They then switched to BC Rich and added modifiers such as NJ, Bronze, etc. to distinguish the imports from USA guitars.
I’ve seen one once, I have a Rico eagle though…
: nothing but idiots …BC RICH experts my ass. jackasses
hey asshole BC RICO’s are made in japan
expert yes I am
they were made before NJ series but they r the same
thing
If anyone has any info on this..such as when exactly these were made, what kind of run they did, etc. The only info I could find was on vintageguitar.com. They said only 100 guitars were done in the first run with the BC Rico name…all others after had BC Rich on them…is this accurate? PLEASE let me know..email me or post…thanks!
Turns out there’s a lot more than the mentioned 150 in the Vintage Guitar article.
I just received a BC Rico today. Neck thru. Mockingbird.

I had one in the early 1980’s (1982 or 1983).
It was a great guitar.I don’t believe that it was the same as the NJ series since it was a neck-thru-body design.
I am trying to find another one as I type this.
Take care,
Tony
I’m thinking of buying a BC Rico Eagle, the serial number looked like R1340. Is there any way to figure out when it was made and the approximate value?
This is a bass I’m talking about.
its made in japan & its pretty old like very early 80’s its wat the NJ series started as
Thanks dude!
I was trying to find out some information about my guitar. I have a GC RICH guitar, and I was told that they were the original company and then BC took it over. Is this true? And does anyone know where I can find information out about my guitar. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Laurie, he’s right. He could have expanded a little but the fact is B.C.Rich is the original manufacturer. The name G.C. Rich suggests a cheap knock-off but I don’t want to put down your instument (if it plays well and stay in tune, more power to ya) In my opinion the B.C. Rich guitars made in the 70’s are the best and undisputedly the most sought-after and exotic looking guitars around(if you can find them) solid neck thru body design, rare woods of high quality and original designs like the "Bich", "Mockingbird", "eagle" and doulble neck "Bich" cannot be compared with today’s cheaper issues.

Kay, for starters if you are going to be rude and tell me it’s bull shit, the least you can do is explain! Which part is bull shit? The fact that I have a "GC" Rich which I do. Or the fact about it being the original company. I have a picture and the serial numbers to the guitar. If you are not going to offer helpful info, then maybe you shouldn’t be answering the ads! I was not condescending in mine. Have some class when speaking to a female!
I was also interested in this same guitar being that I also have one. I do not have the information yet, but my friend told me he found one other web site with information to this guitar and it may be rare. According to what he said only 5000 were made of this series and of those on 175 remain in the world today. It may have some value and as soon as I get more info I will let you know

I found an B.C.assassin in a pawn shop. Went to price it and the new assasins are 450$ but they dont have locking tuners- this one does. Could it be a real handmade? They have it priced at 300$ It plays well, looks older in good shape.Help before it gets away.
If it is a handmade, the headstock says "made in US". If it doesn’t say that, it is an import. If it has a tremolo it is probably a NJ series…

It in my book is the best, but for tone a les paul is the best, jackson has a new guitar with turbo charged pickups,
wich makes it louder without the fuzz, My favorite is my b.c. rich platnum 2000 series 7 string, they give you a litttle more gurr sound, and ofcourse you need a distortion peddal, try lokeing in http://www.musicianfriend.com, they have the best prices on guitars try it
I have tried Sam Ash, Music123.com, Musicians Friend and other places and NOBODY has any clue when this guitar is being released or what the price will be. B.C. Rich’s web site is worthless (If you can even get to it). Anybody know anything about this Guitar?
