I own several high end guitars, but yesterday when I took my new/old $100 stinger home and pluged it into my 1975 Marshall all tube JMP 50 watt amp..WOW!! This thing sounds like a bell meets a duck's Quack!! The action is supurb. Who the hell has been hidin' these things??? Guess you can tell I like it...Peace all...Antney
Re: Love this thing !!!
I know how you feel. I love the action on my ST2. I have a friend that is very upset though, he says it plays like his $800 telecaster. HAR! I do have some issues with the pups I'm going to change them out with something a little hotter. I was thinking about Duncan lipstick cases.
Stingers
Hi,
I think you are all onto something and don't know it. If there is no, or very little info on the Martin Stinger Guitars the readers of this board should start a collection of information. Starting with a wev site of owner picture, models and serial numbers. Then maybe Martin will look a little harder thuough there records that they say they did not keep, RIGHT (martin keeps records on haw often there employees fart), and get you all some information.
I'm looking at a Stinger that I just found today on the internet. I just might need to get it.
BTW, I can't start such a database, no talent, time, or $$
Re: Stingers

new Stinger Guitar Forum 4-12-2007
I just setup a forum for Stinger owners on my webspace. We can all work together to catalog, discuss Stinger guitars, since there's really not much information about them online.

Re: new Stinger Guitar Forum 4-12-2007
I was given a Martin Co, FX3RC Stinger Guitar amp awhile back and I just got around to fixing it. The problem it had was with the main volume control would static out when turning well I replaced it with a new reostat and it seems to have helped but there still is a lot of static but it works very good and is very loud. It has a couple different effects built into it like reverb and chorus and I think a pre-amp? I want to find out how old it is, there is an inspection sticker on the back inside with an inspectors # and what looks to be a date of 6-65 but I don't know if it could be that old? Any one who has any info? I would like to know about this amp. Thanks, Charlie in Phoenix

Can anyone ID the model of this stinger?
No idea what the model is:

Alot of stingers have ssx, st2 or their model on the head, this one doesn't. I've had it for about 10 years now and have never known what ist was.
Re: Can anyone ID the model of this stinger?
Looks like you have an SSX-10 Style, not 100% but with the triple pickups and what appears to be a 5 position switch that's what it would be. Value approx 150$ to 300$ depending on demand at the time. Hope this helps.

Cost of stinger electric
Hi! A few years ago my mother bought me an electric Martin Stinger (not sure of the type). Anyway, I sold it a few years later for 60$ and all of my friends tell me that I was an idiot and that it was probably worth a lot of money. Is this true?? Are CF Martin Stingers worth a lot of money?? If I were to buy another one, what should I pay? Thanks alot.
