Drifter???

Does anyone know anything about Drifter? My instrument was bought from a local repair guy who got it from a hoarders house. It says made in Korea, from Continental Music in Oakbrook, Illinois. I would love to find out more! I cannot find a website with any info about the company whatsoever!!!

Can anyone tell me the value of an Alvarez electric/acoustic model 5046? The only other numbers I can see are 15-12-75 which I am assuming is the date of manufacture. Also the volume and tone knobs are on the body by the bridge, not on the side up by the neck. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!!

I just came into a Ventura Bruno Model 1589 from a recent death in the family. It seems to have never been used in mint condition. Does anyone know the value. A neighbor wants to buy it for 200.00 but wants me to sell it before I find out it's worth

I just found what I believe is the serial number for my guitar. It is: 0164989

Where did you find the serial number? I have a hollow body and don't see a number of any kind, anywhere. I have looked inside and out.

ventura guitar?

My father had been having this "gibson" looking guitar since he was 15 (1970). He bought it used and said that it had a gibson sticker on the headstock, which fell off and is now lost for all time. I have searched and searched but cannot find this guitar anywhere. It has an adjustable neck and a wierd pickup selector that has two slide switches. The switches and two knobs are on one plate screwed to the guitar. The I took it apart and found the numbers J 12 stamped behind the fretboard on the body. Just a suggestion for you to look at on yours. Other than that J 12 there are NO numbers of any kind anywhere on this guitar. Very frustrating.

My dad has a 1949 Vega c-46. His has 2 x f holes and was made in Boston Mass. Sorry, dont have much more info than that.

Lavante 12 string?

I was wondering if anyone knows about a 12 string acoustic guitar I own. In the sound hole is a lable that says "Lavante" model LT30 and Made in Holland. the head of the neck has a logo with the initials "RP" in gold. I can't seem to find a reference to the guitar anywhere. Is it a cheapo dept store guitar or a good one? It is pretty sturdy.

I bought one used about eight years ago for $150. I added a bone nut and saddle and it plays and sounds great. It is a circa 1988. Hope this helps.

A few years ago I picked up a alvarez 12 string at a pawn shop at what I considered a very good price ($125). The guitar is made in Japan (maybe all are, not familiar with alarez)and the peghead is cut sqare instead of the more rounded cut I see on modern alvarezs. Judging by the yellowing binding, it apears to be about 20 to 30 yrs old. On the inside bracing by the trussrod adjustment, num 78 is stamped. Is that the mfg year? Mod# is 5018 ser# is 851561. It would be cool if any alvarez connoisseurs could enlighten me. Thanks
