While maintaining a page for Schaller parts, I found out that many people have questions I can’t answer by myself. Unfortunately, turning to manufacturer doesn’t always mean getting any reply, too…
That’s why I launched this forum and hope it may help somebody the answers he(she) needs.
I no longer run the forum, but you can discuss everything here (not Schaller’s stuff only).
There is only one but: that “everything” should be about guitar/bass or other stringed instruments building, repair etc.

Hello Friends,
I have a mid 80’s Fender with a Spider double-locking trem on it. It doesn’t seemed to be stamped with any code/part no and forgive me – my terminology and understanding of the device it limited…but I am in need of the x6 small black clamp-plates that hold the stings in the tremelo – a pole piece seems to screw in the back of each of them and they in turn sit in fixed bolt-in saddle. (I hope you guys know what I mean – mine have worn over the years as the strings have scratched and scorred them (so far I’ve been sanding them down to a smooth finish to gripp the strings and stay in tune – but now I can’t use the trem for fear of going out of tune completely 🙁 I don’t know what to do as I love my guitar and will buy more than what is necessary to put it back in original working order
Hope you can make an old man happy and help me or send me a link to help me buy what I need
Thank you Friends,
Regards,

This popular thread has been given its own page : gibson or les trem/schaller tremolo
This is a little pricy but its the best for epiphone or gibson styles for sure.
I have an epiphone firebird 5 and I wanted to add a tremolo to it. I also own a Jaguar and very much like it’s tremolo. So, I want some thing that performs in a similar way, ie detunes approx. 1-1/2 step and stays relatively in tune. I use heavy gauge strings (11-52) in case this is pertinent. I kinda like the gibson tremolos that come on other firebirds but was wondering if anyone out there has tried either a schaller or a les trem and what they think. I like to use very gradual pitch bends while playing chords, ala My Bloody Valentine.
Thanks!

I need to find a replacement neck for my ProLine- Or specks to dupe another models neck in it’s place. Thanks- I love this guitar, the airlines didn’t!
Yeah, stop laughing. I know it’ll be a tough find, but there’s got to be one in a drawer somewhere- as there’s none on this guitar.
It’s a late 60 12 string Celebrity.
any help would be sweet.

I teach guitar at a local music store, and oddly enough, when I got to work on Thursday 9/26/02, I found that the same thing had happened to me. HELP!!! Mine is only broken on the sixth string.
I need the exact same thing . I thought I was on a winner with kahlerinternational sales but they have taken my money and not delivered any part. Now they are now uncontactable by email or by web site. If Scott Miller from Kahler reads this message send me the part or send the money back.
The model I am looking for is the string connector for a Kahler Tremelo Bridge tm USA PAT 44547201 DS. If anyone out there can help us it would be much appreciated.
Best Regards

Would anyone know where to get replacement screws for a 7-String ESP H-207 guitar. Most Tune-O-Matic screws that I have tried are to short.
Thanks,

I have a Schaller Floating Trem on my guitar. It is needing some setting up as some of the tension has been lost making tuning difficult. I have no idea what model trem it is and was wondering if Schaller had a nice site that would a. tell me what my trem was and b. tell me how to sort it out. It’s very neat, all the alan keys required for adjustment are built into it and it sits on the top of my guitar, with no routing into the body. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Simon
Have since discovered that the trem is 13 years old and is certainly no longer made by Schaller. Its quite a strange design as nothing goes into the guitar, its pretty clever imho 🙂
Cheers
Simon
i’ve got an old kahler flyer that i want to lock in place, or make the bridge as fixed as possible (i dont use the bar). any tips would be appreciated.

hello every 1 im mike this might sound dumb but how do i rase the action on the kahler 2700 series one string at a time cus some are lower then others and its causeing dead fret on my kramer and i cant find out how to level them out so i dont have dead frets i cant find the screws to rase it if you could help id apreacheate it thank you……mike aka warlock
hey mike this website has your Kahler Info
http://www.wammiworld.com/kahlerparts.php
Good Luck!
I replied to your post earlier and told that the 2700 did not have height adjustment screws, after further examination I found them. You must determine how much you need to raise the saddle, then take the string off that particular saddle and remove the barrel where you feed the string in, pull it all the way out of the saddle, you will see the two small hex screws at the very end of the saddle where the string comes out, at the bridge point, those are the height adjustment screws, I believe this is like any thing else about a floating bridge and is a trial and error process.
sorry about the bogus info earlier.
I think you have to shim them, I have one of these and don’t see any height adjustment screws, you can buy stainless steel shim stock at any good industrial supply store.
hope this helps

i got an old washburn mercury mg40 with a washburn 600s floyd rose
it was used in almost mint condition at the shop
there is just one problem the bar it came with doesn’t really fit don’t get me wrong this floyd is gorgous no wear on the finish at all its just that the handle came from the junk bin at my music shop
its a push in but it doesn’t "catch" if u will lol it just swings around freely and there is a huge amount of play
this question may sound stupid but does anyone have a clue which one out of the all replacement handles my fit
they are like 10 bucks a piece and after shipping id end up paying 20 bucks a handle until i found the right one if i even found the right one
so if anyone knows and wants to save me a few bucks and a little time id sure appriciate the favor

Restoring this guitar but intrigued by the trem which has through hole screws thro which the strings have been passed (one Screw missing). Also 6 black hinged cover over the saddles have screws missing. No evidence of blocks used on this Floyd Rose 600-T made under licence. Any spares sources for these or set up info Washburn do not cater for historical production on their site.

I’m not a tremolo player, because I bang on the guitar occaisionally so it goes out of tune when I do that. I know a lot of players put a piece of wood under the bridge. but I don’t know where? HELP!
A block of wood is not always the best solution, I would add a spring or 2 so that the bridge sits so that the back will actually rest on the guitar body. let me know if you still need this done and I can give you some more detailed instructions on how to do this. http://www.hillinstruments.com [email protected]

what type of bridge is it?, some kahlers you have to loosen the a thumb wheel screw on the back and the string comes out through the hole.

I just bought two off eBay. One original 1968 for $ 500 US and one refinished 1969 for $ 300 US.
There seems to be a good supply of them.
Can someone please gimme a list of some good sites where you can purchase guitars and guitar parts online, Australian ones, theres so many U.S. ones that cost an arm and a leg in shipping costs! It’s hard to find them in search engines i’ve only found a couple. I have found musicnet.com.au & guitarshop.com.au which are good but don’t sell everything. cheers!
