The first time I played this guitar I was astonished. I had never played a guitar with such depth of sound, such volume, such presence. This lattice braced guitar represented a design that brought the guitar to a more equal footing with other instruments and voices in an ensemble. It has a luscious, lovely woody sound that fills a hall and inspires the player.
This guitar was built entirely by Greg Smallman in 1984(guitars from this shop are now being built with his sons). It has been in regular professional use since its birth but it is in excellent condition. Signs of wear are minimal. Just some small nail marks. The cedar top was touched up by Yuris Zeltins about ten years ago. He refretted it at that time and added Sloan machines.
Nothing is needed.
