Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump demos the latest white incarnation of his signature model Stump-O-Matic G5135CVT-PS.
Gretsch Billy Duffy Falcon Guitar
Gretsch recently uploaded a video that had Stump showcasing the features and the stories behind his signature instrument.
Being a signature guitar, the G5135PS is made to the exacting specifications of this long time Gretsch collaborator. After years of using the guitar, it looks like only Patrick's color preference has changed, because the new white G5135PS retains all its original features.
The guitar now comes with a white finished body and headstock, with a discrete diagonal gray "competition" stripes on the body. The new look of the guitar contrasts the silver finish and black stripes combination used when his signature guitar was first launched.
The body is made from Mahogany, and is carved into Gretsch's double cutaway Corvette shape. The instrument comes with a set maple neck with rosewood fretboard. It has 21 frets with a nutwidth of 1.6875" and a scale length of 24.6".
Aside from the specs and shape, the inside of the guitar also remains the same, retaining the trio of TV Jones designed Mega'Tron pickups. The guitar's unique 3 Position toggle switch with middle pickup volume/blend control allows for a variety of tones. The guitar's sound palette is further expanded by the Stump-O-Matic kill switch and a two-position rotary operation switch that allow for three pickups combinations.
Other hardware features include a string through body design, anchored adjusto-matic bridge and vintage-style tuners. All hardware are chrome-plated to complete the elegant look of the instrument.
