The name of the guitar is taken from the special “brushstroke” bird inlay patterns that are found on the fretboard. And since it is based on Paul’s instrument, it is expected that this guitar will feature the company’s best in terms of build and materials quality.

This limited edition model comes with the brand’s most popular shape, having a carved top and double cutaway body just like their Custom 24 guitar. Only a small batch run of less than 200 will be produced.

PRS Guitars President Jack Higginbotham said, “The Brushstroke 24 is where visionary art and master craftsmanship meet. This limited edition, with its elegant brushstroke bird inlay pattern and tonally versatile electronic package, is striking and performance ready regardless of whether the venue is a major concert arena or an intimate living room practice session.

The top of the guitar is carved from figured maple, which is then paired to the mahogany backwood. This wood combination is more commonly found on classic single-cutaway guitars, but as expected from PRS, they’re not bound by traditional specs.

The scale length of the new Brushstroke 24 is 25″. The guitar’s mahogany neck is carved into the brand’s “pattern regular” profile. It is topped by a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard where the special Brushstroke Birds inlays serve as markers to help you find your way around the fretboard. The headstock features a rosewood veneer with inlaid signature.

Two 408 humbucker pickups give the guitar a variety of voices, described by the company as “a full range of tones from sweet, clean highs to full, alive mids and driven lows”. These narrow sized pickups are wired to a 3-way pickup selector switch and two knobs for adjusting the master volume and master tone settings. The guitar also comes equipped with two mini-toggle switches for enabling split-coil sounds. The press release says that you can change between humbucker and single coil sounds without any volume loss.

Other hardware include the PRS Tremolo bridge and PRS Phase III locking tuners. The guitar is available in a variety of finishes including Faded Whale Blue, Black Gold, Aquableux, Jade , Blood Orange, Obsidian, Red Tiger, Violet.
