:I have one of the Takamine F395S 12 strings- bought in 1978. Any idea what this guitar is worth. Excellent condition.

The information given you was not entirely correct. The guitar was a regular production model from (I believe) 1975-1978 until Guild filed a lawsuit against them for copyright infringement. Why it took three years for them to do so remains a mystery. While the guitar is a rare find and will fetch a premium price on auction, there are still a number of them out there. You just have to be patient and wait them out. I owned one for about five years. I had to have a luthier reset the bridge twice as it kept pulling away from the face. Evidently, this was a design defect. I sold it in the mid eighties for a Korg Synth that I still have. I wish I had my guitar back. It was a 1978 that I had kept in mint condition. Sigh. Treasure yours.

There’s one for sale on eBay right now. The starting bid is $10,000. I presume that was a typo on the part of the seller….

I have a F395S – the 91st one built on February 21 1976. It is mint and is loud and beautiful. The S is for solid spruce top. There was a F395MS that year which means Maple sides and back and solid spruce top. No S means laminated spruce top. I wouldn’t sell mine for any amount.

I tried to get the Takamine Corp. to tell me who the guitar belonged to, however when I gave them the serial number and described the gold tuners they offered a nice sum for it, but they would not say who it belonged to. I purchased this guitar at a pawn shop in Florida. Takamine also said these particular guitars were given to stage musicians and only manufactured for one year. If any one knows who this guitar once belonged to I sure would like to know

Crosby’s purchased a guitar from me two years ago. They insisted on paying via check. Since they are a guitar store I reluctantly let them do it. The check they sent me bounced. They refuse to make amends. It’s been almost three years now and they show no interest in being responsible.

I live in gosport, in hampshire. I’m looking for a 4×12 guitar cab to play with my 100w marshall head. It must have an 8ohm impedance and at least be able to handle between 150-200 watts of power, preferably 200w as I have also a 150watt marshall combo that I might substitute for the cabs amplifier.
