Hello!
I have two (one red and one sunburst) excellent both, I played Rickenbacker, Fender Precision, Hagstrom but I always comes back to the surfcasters, I real quality instrument.
They are the so fast and cool with personal sound, very distinctive when you play in a band.
You can hear them go thru any sound wall.
The tuners are very good, never drops, I play often 3 * 45 minutes but they always stay in tune.
If you see one, get it!
They where made from 89-92
Regards
Jonas

There is a Jackson V serial # 075 on ebay right now. I have never seen one with rounded corners like this one has. The seller claims it was an original san dimas model. Does anyone know if this thing is real or not?
Mike
I believe it is a real one. Because Robbin Crosby had one with rounded corners on the round and round video. Also Robbin Crosby designed the first pointy V, that’s why they call it the King V (his nickname was King)
Not true Randy rhoads was the creator of the rhoads model and the V

Ok some people will probably flip at the stickers on this guitar, but anyway, can anyone tell me what year this year and roughly what its worth out of interest. My dad passed it down to me years ago, and i cherish this guitar so I’d never sell it, but im just interested. Picture on link.

It is a model 3 w/pickguard. It is nearly impossible to know the year it was made. I’m a lefty but I’d think around $300 is what these go for on ebay.

Yeah I got a charvel guitar…its got a bolt on neck, and the serial number is 354417. I need to know what year it is. Could you find out for me and email me the link you used?
Serial number on IMPORT Charvels CANNOT 100% identify the model of a guitar. It also cannot tell you the year however, I have ones starting the 322### that is from 1991.

To me it looks a little strange.. anyone help?
Thanks!
There were some stat heads that we made in the early 90’s although, the logo does look weird for that model. It might have been a Japan guitar made only for the Japan market only that made it over.

any one have any info on this guitar, starting with what year it was made?
this guitar has a serial number of 009783, and the model number is cx290. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thx to all

How much does it worth now?
Please help me!!!
I haev a charvel 475 ( I think also looking for serials, but im pretty shure its a 475) with serial 356835
if theat helps, Im also looking for my serial here guys!
Our seems pretty close, shureley first 3 didgits means something?
Due..but i’m confused abt fake n’ original!
i think it’s fake because website doesn’t have the serials matching to this!
The serial# for the Japan imports tell you absolutely nothing about the model of the guitar or to help identify the year of the guitar. As guitars were being built that just slapped on them a plate that sat in a bog box with all the plates. The only way to identify a model is to list the guitars specs (ie: pickup config, #of frets, type on inlays, Charvel logo style, etc)
Hope this helps,
joe…
Brother Joe
it has 22 frets
Charvel/Jackson Pickups
(1 Coil & 1 Humbucker)
4 Way Switch.
Only Volume Nob
Charvel is written where the tuner keys are!
and behind the keys… jackson is written!
Floyd rose… old styly!
Help me bro… i’m confused…
i’m satisfied with it..but if it’s not original then i’d go for something like ibanez prestige or maybe K-7.
tell me if it’s original or if i buy another guitar.. would it takeover the charvel’s taste or it’s gonna be wasted?
When was my guitar made and is it a rare model?
Serial number 249481
: Is this guitar valuable? Jackson Professional
: Serial number 503725, beautiful cherry finish, like new, with hard case
It is a Japan import, most likely 1989. Not rare.

I have a bolt-on neck Jackson, with the serial number being 6113 and the factory being in San Dimas, CA. It came with three pick-ups: an EMG 81, a random single coal in the middle (Seymour Duncan I believe, although there is a lack of writing on it) and an EMG single coal for the neck. There is a 5-way selector switch, one volume nob, original floyd rose. Also, the 12th-19th frets are scalloped. I’m not sure if it’s from the old custom series or what, as there is no indication of this serial number in any category from San Dimas. Any info appreciated, thanks,
James

Hi James. This confused the hell out of me for a LONG time. If you look at the serial #’s at the Jackson site, your # is not in the San Dimas section. I had the exact same situation where mine is #4798. It turns out that between the time of 1506-7303 Jackson was in the process of moving their shop to Ontario. So,they had the entire series neck plates made before the move. THis is why there is an incongruity with the neck plates.
I bought this bass on EBay for $150. Someone messed with the wiring and discinnected the tone pot. What model is this bass and where can I get a wiring diagram and new pots?
Thanks,

What makes you think you have active electronics? If you do have any of the JE…. electronics, most of their pots were 50k volume pots.

I have the factory info book from charvel/jackson and it lists the electronics as being active.(Odd that the book doesn’t list any of the pot power loads though) Plus, the electronics have an independant power source (a nine volt battery). The battery not only powers the mid-range booster but it also powers the remaining electronics as well. Again, I appreciate any information that any body can give me.

The guitar was made in Japan. It has a full humbucker in the bridge position and two stacked single coil humbuckers in the neck and middle position. It has a volume, tone, and mid-range boost pots as well as three individual on/off two way switches for the pick-ups. I’d really like to know where I can find replacement parts and a schematic for this guitar.
ALL model 6s were active electronics unless replaced by the owner.
I have a 1988 Charvel model 6 that has a bad volume pot, on an otherwise flawless guitar, that no one seems to be able to repair. I live in a small town and the music stores within a 200 mile radius are worthless. I’m looking for information on the load/capacity of the model 6 (with active electronics) volume pot and a wiring schemetic. I appreciate any help or guidance anyone can offer.

Sounds like a 475Deluxe which were standard Japan imports.
joe..

Charvel guitar, believed to be 475 Def Leppard ltd.edition. serial no.341718. has jackson tuners, locking nut,22 fret neck with pearl shark tooth inlays,2 single coil & 1 humbucker jackson pick ups, floyd rose tremolo,3xrotary switches,1×5 way selector switch & active electronics. Finished in black/platinum crackle finish. I have been informed it was a limited edition of 200 examples,is this true? The guitar is in immaculate condition with no knocks or scratches.
I would be grateful if you could give me a valuation for insurance purposes & also tell me if the model number is correct. Many Thanks, Tony.
I have bought a jackson charvel guitar from a pawn shop because I like the crackle paint on it. I can’t seem to fond out about it’s origin however. I believe it may be from germany since it has made in germany on the bridg, but I wonder if it is reffering only to the bridge. here is the serial # 347984 Hope that helps.
That finish is called Desert Crackle and was made in Japan in either from 1989-1992. The bridge was by Schaller which was make in Germany.

I know your post is ancient but I just saw it. Likely you already know or don’t even have it anymore but anyway. It is just that, a Jackson J7x. Made in 1994…telecaster style body. I’ll bet it was even purple…most were. I had one and loved it until it was stolen. They play great. Original pickups were okay but nothing great. They aren’t worth much….200 bucks at best.
I just bought an old jackson rr U.S.A. I was woundering how old is it and how much it would be worth today. The serial number was located on the neck of the guitar after the 22 fret which i thought was very strange. The number is rr0499. If you could find out the following for me that would be very nice.
I have what appears to be an older Jackson Pro. guitar. I have had it for several years. When I bought it, it had bad rust damage to the original floyd rose tremolo w/locking nut etc. It was WAY beyond salvation… I replaced it with another.. So, it has two pickups. One says Jackson, the other is larger and in the shape of a black rectangle-it says EMG. There is a single volume knob, in chrome, and original I assume. Two toggles- one is a three position, the other a two position. The head has "J7X" on it, I think that’s what it says. Serial #: J000020 I am assuming this is the 20th in a much greater series. The neck is really thin and sleek; fast is the term. super action. Mother of pearl pick guard covers lower third of body. This Jackson looks like no other that I have seen. I need help identifying the year of production and approximate value. I get the feeling this one’s worth is substantial. I am very interested to know.. -Paul
