  2. Gretsch Beast Solidbody Electric - SB1000

    I played in a band in the mid 80’s with this guitar. It is in very good shape.

    I’m waffeling between selling and moving to acoustic (ok, my preference in music has changed a bit) or having it restringed and buying another marshall.

    I will admit, it has not been touched in 15 years. It is in the case and has been weel taken care of, just not played.

    Can anyone give me an idea what this ‘beast’ is worth? Or if anyone is interested… make an offer. I can take and send pictures if that would help.

    Would like to know where I can obtain a wiring diagram for my Gretsch Country Gentleman. I’m not sure of the year, but 65 would probably be pretty close. It has a name plate that reads, "The Chet Atkins Country Gentleman" followed by the number 77791 Thanks in advance for your help.

    I have a Gretsch Chet Atkins Nashville Model guitar, and I am trying to figure out the year of production/sale of the guitar. The serial number is 80468. It has decal f holes and a bigsby tremolo. It is a double cutaway, and actually has a little gold plate on the headstock the says "Chet Atkins Nashville Model". It was bought by my uncle in a pawn shop sometime around 1961 or 1962. I checked in a book once that said the value of the guitar is close to $4000.00 dollars for around those years, but I do not know if it is accurate. Can anyone provide some more info or insight?

      I have a very nice Gretsch Beast 1000 with a straight neck and 2 humbuckers. Solid with very little wear on the neck or body.
      I play archtops so this one will end up with you or on Ebay.
      They seem to go for $400-$500 .

    I have a Gretsch that I can not identify. It is a solid black faced with a maroon back, neck appears to be maple, looks like a Malcolm Young edition (except for the color)that you can find on the gretsch web site. It has "synchomatic’ on the tune peg end. Serial number M0202070.

    Can any one help identify this guitar?

      two numbers, at least on his, denote when it was made, year and month, and the last three, if you do have a 5 number serial, give exactly which guitar it is for the year-gus

    My father has asked me to sell his Gretsch, because he can’t play worth a damn, and he’s scared to touch it! The lable states it is a Gretsch 6030, but I think that might be misleading as it does not resemble the 6030’s I’ve seen on the web.
    The piece is a black cutaway with ivory trim, electro acoustic with bass, mid, treble and volume sliders on the side. The lable states:
    Fred GRETSCH Enterprises
    Model 6030
    Serial Number 919030-2
    I would love some information about the piece if anyone has some.
    Pictures are available, I have a Gretsch hard shell case, as well as a Yamaha APG15 amp to go with it… Reasonable offers would be entertained

    Hi i have what i believe is a 1979 gretsch beast. It is dark wood with a white pickguard and two humbuckers. I want any info anyone has on this guitar and how much it is worth if possible.     I have a beast for sale with original case.Im not sure exactly what model it is.It is walnut with 2 humbuckers single cutaway black pickgaurd.Its in real good shape.I paid 350.00 for a couple years ago.Id like to make my money back.Its better to call me for info @818 348 5025 .

    – I had a gretsch rambler for 5 years until it was stolen from my apartment. I only payed 600- and it was mint. It was a ’59 model with the dearmond pickups and florentine cutaway. I NEED TO GET ONE!!!

        I just bought a Gretsch TW-600, what was te newprice of this instrument. Gretsch made 6 models. Mine has two single coils, and a Floyd Rose tremolo/ bridge. It is in a near mint state. Every guitar has a unique painting.I’m now searching for the original TW case.

        Korean-made promotional guitar with 22.5" short scale. Three models, 100, 200, 300. Cheap price when new ($199.00) You can find these all day long on eBay for around $50-150.00. Worth more with printed 4-color original box. NOT RARE

  25. Gretsch 6120 G-brand (#16924) -what year?

    Features (horseshoe, thumbprints) say 1956, but serial # is bracketed by cattle inlay guitars said to be 1955. Anyone got the answer?

    Also seek Gretsch serials/date list.

    Built within the same week as Eddie Cochran’s!

    This guitar has been owned by Vince Gordon of The Jime since 1987 where he bought it from Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, USA. Previous history is not known.

    Vince Gordon about the guitar: "Eddie Cochran’s 6120 G-brand has serial number 16942. This one has number 16992. A little math shows that it’s made within the same week as his! It’s pretty hard to get any closer to the real thing.
    It’s the best sounding Gretsch I ever heard.”

    I have a Blonde Gretsch Fleetwood that appears to have the wrong model number in it. The model number says it should be a Synchomatic 300, which is not a cutaway, mine is.

Acording to the catalog along with the usual Master vol, two extra vol’s and the selecter switches, it has a stand by switch and another knob thats suposed to be a "treble booster" . This doesent function, anybody know of a source for a wiring diagram for this guitar? Thanks! Gil

        The way the Rally is set up, the switch by the tail piece is UP for both p’ups, MIDDLE for standby. and DOWN for the treble boost circuit. also the 3rd knob by the volume knobs is for the treble boost . it only works when the regular p’up switch is in the bridge position. good luck

    What would a fair price on a Gretch Corvette solid body be? I’m not sure, but I think it is a 1961, because it has a wooden bridge. The tuners are not original, the pick guard is a little warped looking (curling up at the edge), and the finish is in decent shape (by the way, its a solid mahogany finish), although the neck has some nice dinks in it and there’s a belt buckle rash on the back. Any one know what this would be worth?

        I think the one he is lookin for is the 1500 if you’ve seen any pics of switchfoot the band the lead singer is playing one…it has a white pickguard and silver pickups…really awesome guitar, trouble to find!

  48. 1924 Gretsch Orchestrella Banjo

    This banjo has been in the family since WW2. The banjo
    has not been played since the 1950’s and still has the
    4 strings on it from the 1950’s. There are also some
    "Black Diamond String" "National Musical String Co."
    tenor banjo strings in the case still; plus a pick.

    The banjo is in good condition.

    I would like to find the worth of
    this banjo but don’t really know
    where to start.

    of this steel guitar would be. Also have a Fender pro reverb amp.
