Okay people, i have taken the time to look over most of these things that you all have sent in. The people that have said hammett sucks i really can’t say have convinced me…bascially all is what you have said that is he sucks and plays the same stuff over and over. although i am only 19 years old, i have been listening to music like this since i was about oh 6 years old. and i will admit, i do have a guitar, but, i can not play it worth a damn lol. but i do know one thing that my ears know what they hear, and quite frankly kirks solo’s and riffs are damn fucking good. and here is anothing thing…you peple keep on saying that he is not as good at the greats like stevie, beck, saterani, hendrix, yngwine (i’m just goign to disregard the comment someone made about cobaine being better)…you can not compare kirk to those guys…all those guys played a totaly different kind of music. you can only compare hammett to players like van halen(who was actaully second to kirk), mustaine(if wasn’t for the herion and drinking would still be with metallica writing some insaine mother fucking solos), rhoads?, dave murray, slash maybe…cause they all played that type of music. and plus, each guitar player plays and sounds their own way so that you know who they are when they start off playing some lics. and guys..come on…if he really sucked would guitar mag and all those highly thought of people in the music indusrty be talking about him, putting him in the hall? come on…i don’t see how you can knock a guitar player that good if you people are guitar players yourself…i know guitar players that would kill just to be able to play like him…i know that i would.

Have they even listened to any Metallica album? Kirk has revolutionized the way people even look at guitars.. Hell he’s probably one of the last greats we will see in mainstream history. Ever since the music industry has taken an unexpected turn for the worse.. Kirk is still playing older style (like everyone used to do) but he’s still in mainstream culture…The others that have fallen before him aren’t. Why? Because there is only ONE KIRK HAMMETT. First of all the riffs he’s written are absolutely amazing..Not to mention his mind-blowing solos. He also has one skill that I’ve never seen any musician duplicate………………………Almost every song is in the same fucken key and he’s more than managed to stay fresh and not be boring, repetitive, or stale and that counts for a lot. And just look at the way he improved the bands 1st album "Kill ‘Em All". In which he did in about a week and every song is phenonemonal. Dave Mustaine has nothin’ on Kirk. Hell, even "Escape"(ride the lightning) is better than any song I’ve heard in a long fucken time by any other band..and that’s the bad Metallica song. So to close..anybody who doubts Hammett’s technical talent…listen to "…And Justice For All". Or for those of you who say Kirk is too flashy take a listen to either "Load" or "ReLoad" where Kirk plays EXACTLY what kind of solo each song needs.
