The five limited models include three special guitars from their LTD line, the LTD EC-2015, MH-2015, and H7-2015. Even more limited are the two 40th Anniversary handcrafted ESP Eclipse guitars that come with special release finishes.

ESP stands for “Electrical Sound Products”, the name of the retail outlet and repair shop that became the starting point for the company in 1973. Before they built guitars, they were known for the quality of their parts and guitar repair works, moving to guitar manufacturing was simply the next logical step.

From their humble beginnings in Japan to their current worldwide popularity, ESP continues to be a prominent guitar manufacturer. The brand is especially favored by rock and metal players, thanks to their eclectic and edgy designs, as well as their army of artist endorsers that include respected virtuosos and metal icons.

2015 is a landmark year for the company because they can now celebrate 4 decades of guitar building, an impressive feat in an industry where bigger companies usually just buyout their competition. As expected, ESP is celebrating their 40th Anniversary with five special instrument releases that will only be produced for a limited number.

ESP 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Eclipse

The two ESP Eclipse models headline the 40th Anniversary release, with only 20 guitars to be made for each of the two variant finishes – See thru Black Sunburst and Tiger Eye. It is expected that these 40 guitars will be collectibles, not just because of its very small production, but also because of its impressive feature and highly detailed aesthetics.

The Eclipse is to ESP as the LP is to Gibson, it features an elegant single-cutaway body. Although not much information is provided about the specs of this limited run versions, the regular ESP Eclipse already have quite an impressive feature set, so we only expect the 40th Anniversary Eclipse to be of the same build if not better.

The LTD EC-2015 (limited to 300 worldwide), MH-2015 (limited to 300 worldwide), and the 7-string H7-2015 (limited to 200 worldwide) are the more accessible 40th anniversary models. They are described as beautifully detailed guitars that have quilted maple tops, ebony fingerboards, genuine Mother of Pearl inlays, and multiple bindings. They all share the same EMG MetalWorks pickups and come in See Thru Black Satin finishes.

All limited-edition 40th anniversary models include a special hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity.
