Joe Satriani has just announced his plans for the 2015 G4 Experience, name dropping some of today’s popular virtuosos.

Joining Satriani for next year’s event are some very impressive shred-heads including Guthrie Govan and the Aristrocrats, Tosin Abasi and Animals As Leaders, and Mike Keneally.
The 2015 G4 Experience follows after the previous music camp that Satriani himself has spear headed. It is set to take place at Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria, California, a nice vacation spot that is located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, from June 28 to July2, 2015.
If you are familiar with Satriani’s G3 Tour, where he plays alongside other wizards of the instrument, then you should know that the G4 experience is conceptualized to be an extension of the said tour. While the G3 Tour, which started 15 years ago, highlights the capabilities of great players, the G4 Experience lets you get up close and personal with your favorite players, and at the same time learn from them.
Joe Satriani is quoted saying, “This year I’m happy to announce an exciting new G4 lineup, with each player selected for their stunning musicianship and original approach to guitar playing. Guthrie will be bringing his bandmates from the Aristocrats—Bryan Beller on bass and Marco Minnemann on drums. Tosin will come with Animals As Leaders featuring guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Matt Garstka”.
Joe adds, “Mike ‘The Wizard’ Keneally returns this year bringing his unique multi-instrumental style and approach to the camp giving clinics, playing a solo show as well as being part of my band’s performances. To round out our teaching/performing staff will be good friends and all-around awesome guitarists Doug Doppler, Bruce Bouillet and Andy Aledort along with my friend, Stu Hamm on bass.”

This star studded guitar retreat is open to guitarists of all ages and levels that can afford the premium price tag. Those lucky enough to join with have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hang out with and learn from Joe, Guthrie, Tosin, Mike, and their band mates.
G4 Experience is described as a totally-immersive music camp that include clinics, live performances and jam sessions that will cater to the needs of players, regardless of their skill level. The up-close and personal interaction between the students and the rockstar teachers is expected to result in motivation and faster learning, while giving an experience that is sure to last a lifetime.
Satriani Concludes, “Last year’s successful G4 Experience in Cambria left me with great memories from each and every day. Teaching is something very close to my heart and I take it seriously. Having the chance to share what I know about music and guitar playing with like-minded players is always fun, and I find the camp environment brings out special performances from me and all the teachers.”
G4 Experience price range is $1,400 to $6,000, camp tuition includes 4 nights lodging, meals, master classes, breakout sessions, live performances and jam sessions.
Guthrie Govan had this to say about the upcoming G4 Experience, “Every aspect of this event promises to be a lot of fun, but I must say I’m particularly looking forward to the fact that the whole Aristocrats trio will be there: this means that we’ll be able to move beyond a strictly guitar-centric focus and devote some time to the way band members work together when writing, rehearsing or touring. That stuff is hugely important but all too often gets overlooked.”
