T-Rex Tapster, Duck Tail and Room-Mate Junior

Summer NAMM 2012 – T-Rex unveils 3 new effect pedals: Room-Mate Junior Reverb, Duck Tail Delay and Tapster Tremolo.

The three new effects from T-Rex Engineering cover delay, reverb and tremolo pedal needs. They showcase some interesting new features highlighted below.

Tapster Tremolo:

Tapster Tremolo
Specs | Retail Price: $299.00

The Tapster Tremolo pedal is designed to provide vintage voiced tremolo with simplified controls. It has three knobs that control depth, rate and volume, and it has a Subdivision switch that lets you choose how your tremolo pulsates – either in quarter notes, eighth notes or even 8-note triplets. As the name Tapster implies, it has a very useful tap-tempo feature which lets you change the tempo of your tremolo pulse to match the music you are playing. These will prevent you from being frustrated with your drummer that either goes too fast or too slow.

Duck Tail Delay:

Duck Tail Delay
Specs | Retail Price: $299.00

At first glance, Duck Tail Delay looks like your average delay pedal with four knobs that control delay, level, feedback and time. But further inspection will show that it has more to offer, and most noteworthy is its “Ducking” feature. When you switch to Duck mode, the pedal will automatically reduce the delay signal when you are playing, this allows your notes to cut through uncluttered, normal delay is then applied when you stop playing. Aside from Duck mode, it has a ‘tape” mode that replicates vintage tape delay effects, and a classic mode which gives conventional delay pedal sound. This pedal also comes with Tap Tempo.

Room-Mate Junior Reverb:

Specs | Retail Price: $299.00

Room-Mate Junior is the younger brother of the original T-Rex Room-Mate Reverb pedal. It took its sibling’s most essential features and packs it into a more straightforward and affordable unit. It does away with the bells and whistles and gives you essential reverb functions. You get four reverb algorithms that include Room, Hall, Spring and LFO, and you have three other knobs that control decay, mix and level. This is designed to provide you with a simple pedal solution for most of your classic reverb needs, without the usual noise and complications that vintage equipment entails.
