Jack’s intro of T.Y.L. at the final tour concert in Sydney (right after Mark broke his nail).
Was this a once-off or did Jack play this through-out the Bros. in Arms tour? ? Sorry to use this site as a means to answering my questions but this performance has blown me away since I was 4 years old watching it live and good info on Jack is damn hard to find.
Thanks for the props!!! I used to play around a bit at the top of that tune throughout the tour – it grew in length the more the audience enjoyed the interchange bewteen mark and me….but that night in Sydney I just kept at it…I was having too much fun. So many of my parts evolved throughout the tour. I turned a small couple of power chords at the end of "Wild West End" into an extended solo that was the only unrehearsed part of the show. Mark would walk off stage at I would play as long as I felt it was "happening".
Back in the day, I ordered a lefthanded powder blue Fernandes Strat at Rudy’s through Jack Sonni. I had met Mark Knopfler at the Power Station and he highly recommended them. Well, to make a long story short, While my order was pending, Fender sued Fernandes over these guitars, so my order was delayed for months. I’d call Jack every week or so for a status of delivery, but the guitar was tied up in this lawsuit. After a while I gave up and stopped calling…A year or so later, I see Jack playing a powder blue lefthanded Strat on Money For Nothing. Jack is righthanded….Coincidence? I think not!
Well…that left handed Strat I was playing in those days was a Schecter – not a Fernandes. It has since gone through a number of changes – and now the only original part from that guitar is the neck.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I never stopped wondering about that Strat, until now!

Am trying to track Jack down…he used to come into the record store I worked in in West Hartford, Ct. and when I left to join ABC Records in the very early 70’s, he took my old job…

Sorry, Jack. I didn’t post the last message, but it’s me Steve. I knew you as John when we took a road trip to Scotch Plains and later when you picked up Liz Fitch at Baskin Robbins in West Hartford Center. Sumner has come out and is a professor of economics in Hawaii. Me? I’m still around and studying Physics at Wesleyan. Write if you have a chance. I tried to send you a telegram when you came to the Civic Center, but I don’t think it ever got thru. What was the name of our football playing friend who liked Strawberry Hill too. Miss the old times. What did I do>

Esta vez un amigo viaja para alla y nesecita dos DIDI001 de DIGIDESIGN
una para el y una para mi.
