I built my own pedal board one. It contained lots of plywood and velcro!!!! Needless to say, it soon went to the big stage in the sky!!! πŸ™

I would strongly recommend that you insist on trying it before paying top whack. I work in a music store and Gibsons quality control varies drastically at the moment! If your paying a substantial amount of money for a guitar, then the shop should bend over backwards for you! If they won’t, go to one that will! Have you tried Hertitage Les Pauls? Made in the old Gibson factory by old Gibsons workers-they are head over heals better than Gibsons themselves at the mo!!! Its a shame as Gibson Les Pauls are the best guitars ever!

If your on a budget, then the MArshall TSL range are awesome as are the AVT range. So many amps are versatlile these days that the only true way is to take your favourite axe to your local shops and plug in to as many amps within your price range! A good clean sound such as a Vox AC30 or Marshall Bluesbeaker makes for a great clean canvas and you can then add a disortion pedal to ‘colour’ your sound. I use a BB amp with a marshall Jackhammer pedal playing with a Gibo LP deluxe-this is the best sound i have ever had!

A simular thing happened to me at Music Ground. They had one of the last Guild Brian May guitars in the UK on display. I picked it up, strummed it, remarked to the guy that it was really nice. “Yes” he said as he took it from my hands and placed it back on the hook! I was only about 16 at the time, but at that point I had a larger disposable income than i do now and already had a Gibo LP, Patrick Eggle and Vox AC30. Needless to say I have never been back! Mansons In Exeter have the right idea-well worth a visit! Cranes in Cardiff are good too!
