Well it sounds like you had a good time and that is what counts my friend.

It is without a doubt Wintertime where I live. But we all love it. Lots of fun for the kids and plenty of Winter activities to keep my band working.

Have a great week Oz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!————– Jimmy

    Hey 1Bass !!!!!!!

I played a 12 String Custom Kent Smith last month. Very, very strange————— a new 767 was trying to radio in for landing clearance !!!!!!!!!

I did just pick up a 1987 US Vintage Fender P Bass. Off white color with brass pickguard. Very cool piece.—————– JLR

Well————— I’ll make this short. It is a Kay. I have 3 just like it exactly. Two of mine have the Old Kraftsman brand name on the headstock, the other says Kay

    For exact indentification send pics
with a email to Ian Willis at [email protected] . He is the KING of this stuff.

Sorry I got in on this so late. I agree with 1Bass.

You might try the overwound P Bass pickup from Guitar Fetish. It is the GFS brand and for the money it is very good.

    Good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More of a late reply to 1 Bass here. Two years ago I bought a SX 5 string Jazz . It was made in Korea in 1998 and it is fabulous !!!! The build quality is simply amazing !!!!!!!!!! I don’t know much about the newer SX’s built in China , but if they are evn close to the bass I own you can’t go wrong.

Quite a good bass for a small amount of money.

Yep, I remember this one. The world sometimes amazes me !!!!

I once saw a listing on Ebay for “Old Fender Bass”. It was a mid 80’s Ibanez with a sanded headstock. The seller only wanted $3000 for it !! Amazing.

First off, I hope you went to the Ampeg guy that 1Bass told you about.

Next———– I have been recording with Ampeg for well over 40 years and have found it best to listen to what all the players and techs rell you, BUT, get to know your amp YOURSELF. Talk to the boardman and get the best tone you can possibly get !! It is YOU that will be on the recording. Get tone that fits with your style of music, pleases everyone’s ears, but has that little bit of YOU included.

Now go PLAY THAT BASS THROUGH A GREAT AMPEG AMP !!!!

    Good luck my friend.

Already thought of the pre amp thing , but I have no room I also know there are booster pedals and a zillion other offboard doo dads out there. I just wanted to do it as simple as possible
    .

I will try the four pot idea. Let me know if you have any other brain storms Oz !!! 😆

    Thanks,
