got the shubb capo, ernie ball thumbpicks and korg CA 40 chromatic tuner.

Tuner: great, i dont think theres any better tuner than this one i have(my d string was apparently way out of tune, it picked up as f#)

Shub capo: Just tried it out today for wonderwall, took me a while to figure out how to put it on since it was my first time using a capo. Great, no buzzing or anything. Earlier someone mentioned rubber can be replaced when it wears out, where can u get one online? But I assume this capo will last a long time.

thumbpick: In my opinion, not really the best way to play guitar with it. I find regular picks/even strumming with my fingers much better than thumbpicks. But the price was cheap for this, so I dont regret it. Maybe it takes time to get used to it.

no, i haven’t had a chance to order them yet. I was on vacation for a while, now I am back. I am probably gonna order them sometime this week, and I will let you all know how they are.

p.s. im probably not drill a hole in my guitar. not gonna have a strap for a while

    microsark,

thanks for your advice. It is really tempting. But, for some reason, i am really scared of drilling a whole and putting a screw into my precious guitar.. and I don’t have any experience with this because I am still a beginner guitarist.
but buy another strap button (they cost pence and just screw in). Fit it to the heel of the neck (where the neck joins the body) pointed away from you (i.e. on the underside of the heel pointed slightly towards the floor as you hold the guitar) rather than at the back of the heel or pointed towards the headstock, that way the strap can’t accidentally pull off. If you do use a strap with neck tethers you will probably find that the guitar goes out of tune a lot as the weight of the guitar, however slight, bends the neck a little tiny fraction every time you move.
So what strap button would you recommend? I only see that martin strap button on MF site. Also I don’t really understand the strapping technique you are describing here. That’s probably because I have never seen it.

This is what I am planning on ordering in a few days. Feel free to comment on anything.

Capo: It’s either Kyser or Shubb. But for me, shubb seems to be harder to use than kyser, so I am thinking about purchasing the kyser one.

okay, straps with strings in the end seem be a big hassle, so I don’t think I am getting those.

The martin strap button seems a lot better. I found the same thing on musiciansfriend. So All I need is that and a regular strap right?

Alright. So either of the capos you mentioned would work for my washburn D10s?

I am also looking for a strap, but I don’t know how it would work for my guitar. I could put one end of a strap to my bottom part of the guitar but then i dont know where i would put the other end. Thanks for the help guys

yeah im really enjoying the washburn acoustic I got.
It’s just perfect for me. I carry it in a hard shell case with me whenever I fly(usually once in three months or so)

well, here’s my tip for the new comer.

Just like everyone else saying, try out the actual guitar before buying it. I went to a local instrument store with my friend who has been playing guitar for years and checked out several acoustics. Out of all, for some reason I loved the sound of the washburn acoustic, but the price was more expansive than the one online, so I ordered mine from musiciansfriend.

When I got it, some of my pals played the guitar to check if it sounded right and stuff like that. I heard that if you order guitars online, some of them don’t sound clear as they are supposed to..I wouldn’t go into details because I’m not an expert or anything, but that’s logical for everyone.

I’m definitely glad that I didn’t get a cheap/crappy guitar. Learning guitar requires lots of patience and practice, and I can’t imagine myself learning all the new stuff with a guitar that doesn’t even make clear sounds.

My guitar is absolutely perfect for me right now, and I’m so addicted to it. I just want to play more and more.

    well, hope these help.
