😆 , Shake. Is that one of those “anti-drummer” jokes?
Hahaha…I totally didn’t even realize I said it like that. I guess now that I look at it, it sort of is an underhanded “compliment”.

But I stick by it, nonetheless. 😆

Nice. Didn’t realize it was that easy. I think I’ll test my skills on my Ibanez first, just to make sure…..(that’s my kick-around guitar)
Looks great for drunken-evening acoustic-jam type sessions. I have a bit of a thing against Zoom having only ever had the 505 and 506 models inflicted on me, but this looks nice…
Hahaha….

WHatever do you mean? I don’t think I’ve ever [hiccup] been to a drunken [hiccup] evening jam session. 😆 😯

But as for the Zoom products, I am kinda with you Tim on their pedals, I had the 505 for guitar (I believe that was it), but I’ve owned the MRS1266 Digital Recording Studio for a few years now, and although it’s bulky and not *ideal* to work with, per se, it does what I need it to do, for the most part.

I really wish that I *really* knew how to use it though; it kinda frustrates me that I never take the time to actually read the manual. We use it for live recording & rehearsing, where each band member plugs straight into it from their amp – it has 6 input channels, so 4 for the instruments, 1 for the drums, and 1 for the vocals.

You know what I’ve thought about a lot, especially the past 2-3 months? Even when my custom hollowbody comes, I think I’m still gonna find myself going back to my SG on certain occasions. I effin’ love that guitar, and it still just has the stock pups in it – I can’t believe how good it can sound sometimes. I’ve actually thought about putting new pups in it, but can’t come up with a good enough reason to spend the $$ on why.

Which brings me to this: since I know nothing of wiring, how much do you think it’d cost to have someone install pups, assuming I go out and buy a pair? Figure the worst case scenario, which isn’t even all that likely, is that if I have new pups installed and don’t like them, I can always switch it back.

PS – Greaso – I spent only around $700 on my SG, and as you can see from my above adoration for it, it was a lovely investment.

    Who said:

“They’re not the best at what they do, they’re the only ones who do what they do”

and about whom was this person speaking?

ahhh….and another gem, from one of the members of the same band, on writing songs (lyrics):

“I’d rather fill in all the O’s in the phone book”

You have to watch both vids though, very different, he just kicks ass! Henceforth I am a huge fan…
Ha! In that acoustic video he kind of looks like a long-haired John Cusack!

    Andrew Gold by chance???

He wrote the theme song for Golden Girls (NOT my favorite show, btw) called “Thank You For Being a Friend” and it was sung by some girl (?). Also played a few different instruments….

I don’t think that’s it though. Damnit! This is hard!

Nope, that can’t be it, because Portnoy sang the version on Cheers, and your previous clues said he didn’t sing the TV version….nor do many of the other previous clues work.

    ….hmmmmm…..
American Show which began in 1985. Very famous show.

Could well have been YOUR favourite show.
Aha! Was looking at the clues again and I finally got it. Should’ve gotten it sooner. The “your” favorite show gave it away. I was thinking…”why me?” and then it came to me.

The tv show is Cheers, and the author of it is Gary Portnoy, who also penned the theme songs to “Punky Brewster” and “Mr. Belvedere”

Wait, Cheers premiered in 1982…..uh oh……but that’s gotta be it. I can’t think of any others. If that’s not it I’m stumped.

Ugh….no idea Mike. Don’t know if that’s really worthy of a post, but oh well…..

What year(s) did this famous TV show(s) run that you wrote the song(s) for? And was it an American show?

Tim, thanks much for the kynd comments man, much obliged. I do agree with you on the “Cortez” (even though I may be biased) – I fukking love that version (sorry for that….I am that passionate about it). By far the best we’ve ever done, and glad we were taping that show.

I have taken off the “Hush”, not just because of the reaction, but the guy singing it is no longer in the band, so it doesn’t really make sense to keep it on there, I guess.

In it’s place I’ve put an oooooooold song from way back when (so far back it’s artist is listed as “Traditional”) called “Timber Ho! (Jerry)”, which I sing. A cool song about a mule who gets his ass handed to him (no pun intended) and then turns on his owner. Very ominous song, a strange yet attractive beat and dark conotations in terms of the melody (song is in Bbm, key is G#/Ab). I love it. Can’t get enough of it. It’s not the best version we’ve ever done, but it’s the only one we have recorded (again, this is a live version).

    Any takers/thoughts on this one?

    Thanks again guys!
