  1. My Guild Guitar
    Anonymous

I have a Guild Guitar built in Hoboken NJ and the Model is F20-NT and the Serial Number is AG-980. I receive it as a gift in 1963 or 1964 and am wondering what year it was made and value.

  2. Madeira model A25C
    Anonymous

In Response to Guild Madeira A25C, uncertain of year. I purchased this guitar in Murfreesboro, TN in 12/11. It’s been a good guitar. I purchased it for $340 w/case. It has rover gold tuners and gold end pins and looks very sharp. I put $100 in a set up and fret dress and have kept it in good condition. If anyone has more info about this guitar please reply. Thanks

  4. Guild Madeira Model A-75 ser.# A1487
    IR8PIR8

Been trying to find some info on this acoustic….brother gave it to me as he hurt his shoulder and couldn’t play it w/o aggravating his injury. I bought him a smaller nice Oscar Schmidt to pluck on when the power goes out and he can’t fire up his Tele. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also been thinking of replacing the tuners on this with some locking type. Any suggestions?

I bought my Madiera A-75 new in the 1970’s from Royal Music in Brooklyn, NY for about $225. The A-75 is a Dreadnaught-style with spruce laminate top and rosewood sides and back. Mine, which has an oval label, was made in Japan for Guild and has what I refere to as a “bright” sound. I still have this guitar, but it is now my back-up, as I purchased a Martin D-16GT about 10 years ago and prefer its sound and easier action.

i have a guild accustic model d46-bld serail no is dl 100926 can you tell me what year it is and what wood its made of and how much its worth the guitar is in excellent condistion thank you bob smith

    1. Did you ever sell your Guild D46? I might be interested in buying it, if it’s still available. I sold one, years ago, that had the next serial number; mine was DL100927. It is from the final year of production, 1985 if my memory is correct.

  6. Guild Madiera A-25
    Kathy Glover

I have an A-25, old but good condition, with case for sale. I have arthritis and cannot play it well anymore but would like it to have a good home. It is darker golden brown on the neck, back and sides and a lighter golden color on the front. "Madiera" is inlaid in Abalone at the head of the neck. It has a deep rich robust sound and is one of the nicest guitars I’ve played over the years. Please contact me if you are interested in it.

  7. Guild Starfire Price Inquiry
    Tim

I have a 1961 Starfie in pretty good shape – there are a few blemishes in the finish on the back where buttons and buckles might have collided with the finish – the front is in great shape. Color is a burgundy and the tailpiece is broken and will not hold the high "E" string. (Serial number 16584)

  8. Guild Madeira P600R Acoustic #A1776

I bought this guitar in 1974 or 1975 for $120.00 new. It has aged beautifully and sounds sweet. Except for a few small dings it’s in excellent condition, I love my guitars. I’d like to know its value. HELP!

Ive had this guitar for over 25yrs, well taken care of, serial number 116224(1975 model I believe), never had a problem with it, was wondering the value?

UK between £500-£800 -the F30/40’s tend to bring a bit more – depending on dings/action/neck/bridge/joints/fret wear etc.

  10. Madeira model
    cord

I have a solid body electric Madeira that I have had for 15 plus years. It is a great guitar but I have always wondered what model etc, it is. It doesnt have any numbers stamped on it anywhere. It is natural mahogany color, has dual humbuckers, 2 volume and 2 tone controls, and 3 toggle switches, chrome colored bridge with brass bridge hardware. Can someone tell me what I have been playing all these years or at least tell me where an id# would be located [email protected]

I was wondering if you ever found out anything about your c600. I have a p500 that I am considering selling. I bought it in the late 70s. It has a beautiful blonde body, incredible sound and is in excellent condition. I hate to give it up but I have arthritis in my fingers and just dont think I’ll be using it again.

  13. Guild Aviator S-285?
    Riley Wilson

I recently picked up what I believe is a 1984 Guild S-285 with 3 EMG single coils with mid boost circuit, original Kahler trem, set neck and more. HOT pink color with the original case which is very beat. Whoever started out with it played it a lot. It sounds great and plays so easy with 10’s, I’m re thinking my attitude about older US made guitars. Anyone else even seen one of these guitars? I’m pretty sure the age is correct as the serial # is HC100193. Thanks.

Yes, Guild did make a left-handed S-300.I have one that was purchased in 1977 or so. I bought it from someone in about 1979 and had it ever since. It is a great playing and sounding guitar. Don’t know if I will sell it but maybe if the price is right.

  17. Guild Madeira
    Rick

I have a Guild Madeira Classical Guitar. The label inside it reads serial # 242 and the model C10B. Can any one tell me anything about it, type of wood used to make it, how old it is , and maybe the value of it. It has a Black finish and has always had a really nice sound to it, until just recently where my son kicked it off its stand and the stand on to it. It was an accident but it took a hard fall and now it has some buzzes. I want to know if it is really worth getting repaired if possible.

Hi there. I’ve got one also (Madeira by Guild C10B) and I agree completely with Joseph (above). This is one of the best sounding guitars I own (and I have several). If you loved it as much as I do mine, you should be in the repair shop already.
As to the make and make up of the guitar, I can tell you it was made in Japan for Guild and that’s about it. And you probably already knew that.
Good luck with it and I hope you decide to fix it. (If you don’t fix it, let me know. I might just buy it from you! ;))

      Hello,
I was just sufing the web for Guild pickup rings and came
      across your article.

I have an original Guild S300A-D Blond serial # EB100219
that I had custom made by Guild in 1976. This guitar is JUST AWSOME!!
I had Guild install Super Distortion DiMarzio picups and
wired IT for stereo(it can play through two amps at once,
      spliting the pickup poles).

The Guitar is accented with Gold hardware.
The mini machines are still excellant.
The fret board is Ebony. F A S T action!

I have just swapped out the neck pickup with a
Gibson 1957 Humbucker. This gives me a cleaner sound
now. The hard rock days are past for me. Gospil,
Country and Surf music is what I play now.

If you contact Guild by phone, they are now with Fender
in CA., they may be able to assist you with the Schaller
mini machines. Mine have the Guild name embossed on them.

Let me know if you locate the tuners (mini machines).
      You’ll find them.

      Krist

Krist , Sorry to say You are just a tad bit off when it comes to when
your guitar was manufactured. By your supplied Serial number it
was part of the 1981 production run according to Guild. Here is a
Link to Guilds Production Run History.

        https://guildguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/history_of_your_guild.pdf

The S300A-D came standard with DiMarzio PAF and Super Distortion
        pickups.

Still looking? I have an A25 NT HG serial # AF 250149, "bearclaw" spruce? maple? top, slight crazing of the finish because she’s been living in the California desert. Great tone, well loved and cared for, hardshell guild case, original registration/"lifetime warranty" paper.asking $700, will dicker.
