This new guitar is designed to achieve the lush but menacing, heavy yet melodic sound that Dustie needs as he plays for his progressive metal band “Between the Buried and Me”.

Waring has been using a PRS Custom 24 guitar outfitted with Floyd Rose tremolo since 2008. It has been his axe of choice for studio work and live performance. It did not take too long for PRS to team up with Waring to create his limited edition signature model by improving on Dustie’s production model Custom 24 guitar.

At the core of this signature guitar is the ‘Floyd’ Custom 24 model, but with some unique features as requested by Dustie. Most notable of which is the Dustie Waring signature DiMarzio humbucking pickups.

The company says, “Waring’s signature pickups were designed to cover the spectrum from pristine cleans to heavy rhythm chords all with no harsh trebles or mushy bottom end. Paired with black hardware and a satin finish, these guitars have a look that is as sophisticated and menacing as Waring’s tone.

The guitar has a mahogany body with arched figured maple top that is carved into the Custom 24’s distinct double cutaway shape.

The neck is made of rock maple and topped by an ebony fretboard. It has a scale length of 25″ and comes with 24 frets, Birds fingerboard inlays and glow-in-the-dark side dots.

Other features of the new Dustie Waring Signature limited edition include an “Original” Floyd Rose tremolo and PRS Phase III locking tuners. Dustie Waring concludes: “I can’t see myself playing anything else. They are perfect instruments that you can get any tone you want out of, and they look absolutely baddass.”
