Fender, Gibson, Gretsch and Rickenbacker guitar parts.
We hope you’ll take a moment to visit our web site offering genuine Fender guitar parts and accessories.
In many cases, the parts are the same ones used on Fender guitars since the 1950’s! We offer this fine line of products through online ordering and mail ordering as well. We also carrying a line of premium quality replacement and custom parts for Gibson, Gretsch and Rickenbacker guitars and basses.
I am looking for a KAPA tremolo tailpiece. I found one on what turns out to be a fake site out of China, but that’s all.
bought my kappa in about 1964 from ANDY PENNS DRUM AN GUITAR In SACAMENTO CA. we have some 45’s still floating around on u tube with me playing it, love the guitar it was candy apple red . you are very proud I’m sure .
Looking for info on KAPA Guitars
please i need tail piece for rickenbacker 345, possibly the "R" one, trussroads, vibrato and may be the keyboard, someone can help me?
I recently bought an Old Kraftsman Archtop that has no serial number and a replaced neck. Though the neck is probably newer, it is also very old. The only number to be found is on the headstock which is a patent number and the name "Harlin Bros". The patent is from the Harlin Brothers in 1938 for the design of the guitar neck. The headstock is very long and it curls out towards the bottom of the guitar and all the tuning pegs are on the top side.
Any idea whats going on here?

This popular thread has been given its own page : Epiphone Electar Zephyr with Trem (1940’s – blonde cabinet)
Ron you sound like you are further that I am. It’s likely we have the same amp. I can’t find a schematic either but if I do I will let you know.
: I’m restoring an Epiphone Electar Zephyr amp from 1948. It has one of those blonde bandstand style cabinets. I have the version with tremolo and 2-6L6 output tubes. It has all the parts mounted over & under a phonelic strip and that makes tracing a little more difficult. There were 2 components that were never soldered at the factory (must have been a problem over the years). Anyway, the signal is getting through the last several stages but not through the pre-amp end. I’m seeing some strange things like the plate of one tube connected directly to the grid of another. Now I’m wondering if I have the right tubes and if they’re in the right sockets. Nothing’s labeled. The tubes that are in it are 5U4, 6L6, 6L6, 6SL7, 6SL7, 6SJ7, 6SJ7, 6SN7, 6SN7. I’m constantly searching the net for a schematic and I know none of the usual sources will work. Some collector out there must have an instruction manual or something on this. At this point, I would be happy if someone who owns a working example could let me know what the tube layout is supposed to be. I know there were many versions of this amp. My fingers are crossed (makes it hard to type emails) Ron

I have the Zephyr without tremolo. I found a good schematic
at schematics unlimited.com You can download a pdf or a free printable schematic for at least the non tremolo version.
Not sure if you can contact them and perhaps get a version with the tremolo addition. This should at least get you around the trace a little easier. The tubes in mine are, two 6L6GA power tubes, three 6SJ7 tubes, and one 5Y3GT tube. The schematic shows the exact location of each tube in the chain as well as the capacitors and values of each. I hope this helps. B.

This popular thread has been given its own page : Kapa guitar questions? Cobra, Challenger, Continental, Minstrel,
72: I haven’t checked this site in quite awhile but I see that people have been posting questions concerning their Kapa guitars. I’ve been researching Kapa for the last 5 years and have accumulated quite alot of knowledge about the company and their guitars. If you have any questions about your Kapa or would just like to share what you have, feel free to email me. Terry
I came across a 3-pickup challenger about 7 yrs ago and purchased it . I’ve just now started to mess with it and found that the middle pickup doesn’t work at all. checked with meter and it is dead . Can pickups still be found that would work . Or should I get this one rewound ? Also I have looked all over the guitar even removed neck etc. and cannot find a Serial number anywhere. It still has the large KAPA gold decal near the tuners. Made in USA on the back of the head, metal mounting plate for neck has nothing at all on it. Note ; On the bottom of all the pickups it has Germany stamped on each one. ( Hofner ? ) Thanks for any information you can give me.
I was hoping that you would know someone or somewhere that I could find some replacement parts for my Kapa continental, This guitar belongs to my grandfather, the issues are that the neck pickup is dead completely, and the bridge pickup is on the outs as well, ive not gotten into the guitar yet to see if there is any other stuff in there that needs replacing or repairing. But any advice or knowledge that you have that may help me, please email me.

My young son has purchased an ‘old school’ Washburn Hawk. Unfortunately, it is missing several pieces including a spring that resides in the back of the guitar. I do not play the guitar so I turn to you for assistance.
Does anyone know where one may be able to obtain parts for this guitar? Washburn indicates that they no longer supply parts for the guitar.
Thank you,
Bob
Months ago I came across a Kapa devoted website and can’t seem to find it…anyone else been there and can you lead me….looking for a model name foe a stratlike 3 pickup model(might be a cobra???not shaped like a challenger)
Hi, I run the Kapa website you’re looking for. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/kapaguitars/
Feel free to join up and check it out. The strat like 3 pickup model you’re looking for is basically a Challenger. Early ones with 3 pickups were called a Deluxe Challenger and then later was renamed (and slightly redesigned) the Wildcat.

Has anyone tried setting up a Ric 12 so the strings are the conventional eE-aA-dD-gG-BB-EE instead of the Ric’s Ee-Aa-Dd-Gg-BB-EE?
Also, the neck is so narrow, is anyone else finding it hard to play?

Does anyone know where I might find a whammy bar (tremolo) for a 1962 Melody MAker. Gibson no longer makes tham.
Pro recommended I get a Gretsch Roller Bridge to replace the stock bridge of my 6119 reissue. What’s the benefit?
This popular thread has been given its own page : Re: What’s the Gretsch Roller Bridge for?
When using a bigsby type vibrato the roller bridge allows the strings to return to tune without getting hung up as on a metallic fixed bridge.
Tune-o-matic type bridges with metal saddles and carved wooden bridges will rotate about their bases when strings are bent up and down, then sometimes the strings will slip, the bridge may even "walk" to a new position.
I have an old Guild T-100 that had this problem. Somewhat fixed it by using an old melita bridge with plastic bridge saddles that are relatively low friction. A roller bridge would probably work even better.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement preamp for my Ovation Custom Balladeer 1860? It was made in 1993-94 and I cannot seem to find one. Thanks!

My brother and I collect Kapas. Our model 500 will not leave our fingers for less than $800. Few people have a clue as to how fine this model is. I have requested info on one that was listed in 2003 at $500. We have found them to be few and far between. I have played ours for long periods, and I know it’s versatility in tone makes it one of my favorite guitars of all time. Basically, the 500 is in the class of Gretsch, Gibson, and Hofner (especially with the same pickups as those Hofner purchased).
Anyone have an original 1961 les paul junior pickguard – please note that the later Sg junior pickguards DO NOT fit! Thanks, Dave
