Looking at the Vans sticker you was obviously skateboarding in ’98.
lee_UKParticipanti would go down the hot soapy water road first, to me it’s the safest.
IPA is always the best option, it dissolves old sticky glue faster than a British MP blaming the ‘system’ for stealing money from us hard working tax payers.lee_UKParticipantKnock it all on the head Bass, do a Keith moon with the Sky digi-box, and stick 2 fingers up to their broadband, come over to BT, the water is lovely and warm over here, the grass is always green, and there is always a lovely bevy of fair young maidens ready to massage away that horrible Broadband experience you have been getting.
Why the hell do you want to give your money to a power crazed Ozzie anyway? haven’t you seen the Omen? Thorn Industries?? = Fox = Sky = News international?
BT are just a phone call away……… here come the excuses!!
lee_UKParticipantI have a pair of ‘Pearly gates’ and they are excellent, i have them on a Tokai LP copy, well worth the money.
lee_UKParticipantNot tried one yet, is that the new amp that uses a pair of EL34’s??
I use an AC30 TBX as my gigging amp, get some great tones out of that, i also use a Hiwatt custom 100 head.
What speakers are in that custom classic?

lee_UKParticipantI think he’s gone home.
lee_UKParticipanti can second that on the Kent Armstrongs, they make excellent pick ups for the money.
lee_UKParticipant
It is normally referred to as the saddle, or the saddlebone.
On this particular guitar, the bone is shaped in a way to make each string intonate optimally, which is achieved by adapting the length of each individual string, to compensate for the differrences in the diameter of the strings. So, this guitar has a “compensated saddlebone”.
Good luck selling!
It looks nice, what brand is it?/Magnus
Very well put.
lee_UKParticipanthow did it go?
lee_UKParticipantIt’s a matter of taste, by raising the bridge pickup it increases the output of that pickup, so you can always cut in the mix when you play a solo.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to pickup heights, obviously too low and you will lose volume, also too high and you can cause intonation/tuning problems, some Strat (single coil) pickups have staggered pole peices to individualy increase the output on a string.lee_UKParticipantAny year is a great year for an SG, im the Biggest SG fan, my old bass player Gary had a 77 model, hardware was quite different from the standards of today and the 60’s ones.
Very nice player though, but i do like the ,asetro trem 60’s model, the long trem unit, just like Angus’s guitar.lee_UKParticipantThe backing tracks quality is excellent, i get all my jam tracks from Guitarist magazine but they dont sound as good as yours.
lee_UKParticipanthi, welcome aboard, look forward to reading your posts.
lee_UKParticipantCould be a bit of git this one, have you tried taking pups and wiring out of a casino before? it’s like painting your hallway walls through your letterbox.
you really need to check the wiring, Ive never heard of a pickup failing before so i would head for the volume/tone pots, you have to do all this through the ‘F’ holes… a steady hand, plenty of patience and a couple of paracetamol would be handy. -
